Got my 2011 xB RS 8.0 up to 101 today. I have a strong feeling that will be the fastest I will ever drive it. Very steady ride and solid handling though.

are you auto or manual?

cuz 5spds even without limiter ive read limits around 135 cuz the gear ratio

i know my 5spd tops out at 128

 

Probably an auto. I was toying around on a backroad a few days ago and hit 118....seemed like 4th gear in the auto is fairly big.

Edit: that was probably the first and only time I will break 85 in the xb, I'm much happier getting 33mpg at 70mph

 

bought the unichip with the road speed removal so we shall see...

What size tires are you running? I have a feeling your speedo is a little optimistic.

Just as I thought. Your smaller tire diameter puts your speedo off by about 3.2% or maybe even a little more because of the tire stretch. Your 130 reading was no more than 126... which is still flying for an xB.

Thanks for pointing out that the XB can not reach 130 mph unless the speed limiter is defeated. No Unichip means a top speed of ~125 mph.

 

Seems like an awfully expensive 5mph.

 

Yeah but I could probably do 150 mph without the speed limiter. Not that I'd want to. I did it once before with a Mustang GT and it was scary fast. The front end got very light at that speed. IMO 125 is fast enough for an XB.

 

Did 135 on a motorcycle 25 years ago... at that speed the painted broken white lane lines become solid.

Geez, I got to 91 on my 550 on open straight highway and that was enough for the front end to start feeling light (and that was quite sufficient for me !) The xB2? About 55 thus far, though would probably get to about 60 in the right lane if I ever got on the interstate (heavy traffic on the Washington DC to Philadelphia corridor, and typically moving fast )!
