That's my dream HU for the box, but the price is out of my budget.

I guess a Premium unit thats less than 300 is the only way for me.

I just sold my brand new premium stereo for the 08. I never used to since I have D3.

 

I just bought my D3 for 535 brand new. They are starting to clear them out.

 

I got lucky. Several months ago, I bought mine on eBay for $120. (iPod interface cable and Instruction booklet included).
Seller worked at Toyota dealer, and he listed 4 auctions of these take-off units. Each was listed with a $120 "Buy it Now" option. All were sold quickly.
My recommendation is to bookmark an eBay search (mine was for "scion" within "Car Electronics"). Then, check your search often. You may get lucky like I did.

 

Can the avic -d3 be controlled by the steering wheel? Oh, when someone switches all the led's in the dash, do they do the steering wheel ones too?

 

You'll need the PAC adapter to use your steering wheel control.

I have a very nice alpine CDA series DIN HU just sitting around. (eBay fees are a drag too) it has the Alpine hi-speed iPod connection so with the optional cable you can control your iPod from the HU. Interface was much smoother than the base Scioon Pioneer Hu i might add. if this sounds interesting hit me up and ill actually getoff my azz and give u any necessary info.

That's what the store told me. They said that it is going to be replaced with the d4. However, they did say that the D4 will probably coming out later in the year. I think that retail store I bought mine from said they had an abundance in inventory and were trying to rid of some, especially for the new release.
