I'm back with a question about leasing
Hi all. I'm back. I leased a new scion xb(my gen 1 xb was totaled in 2008 ), and I have a question. The finance guy talked me into getting the "premium matanence warranty" and I'm wondering if it's worth it. Afterall doesn't the standard warranty cover for 2 years of oil and rotation? I don't drive all that much(less than 10000 a year) so I won't be hitting the 36,000 mark until after 3 years. Does the 36,000 mile maintenance thingy cost an arm and a leg like the finance guy told me?
Any thoughts?

The maintanence package will run you about $370. It's almost worth it, because it also includes some extra stuff if you need more maintanence than just oil/rotation like air filters and what not. I don't think you get 2 years free though, I think you get two oil changes/rotations free. But, the only thing you have to make sure of is that if you do get that package, that is dealership sensitive. If you move, you will not get to use that package elsewhere. You can get a prorated refund though if you do move, or just don't want the package anymore, and then they just take it off your loan. This happened to me. I got the maintanence package from dealer in Arizona where I was living, and then moved to Wisconsin a few months later. Yeah, it does you no good anywhere else but that specific dealership. So, just keep that in mind, but if you are not going to be moving, I recommend it if you don't do your own maintanence at home.
