These have been out for a while, These do not tape on...They snap in. JC Whitney also had them, might be diff. brand but same thing. I am waiting for the ones with two way tape.

I've never been a fan of the way these things look but I think the ones in the picture look great. I kind of like them! Hopefully they would look the same on an actual xB. They're very streamlined and don't stick out as much as the JDM ones.

What are the advantages of the snap on?
Is it better than using tape?

they are so "cheap" because ther is no import fees from japan i have the "in channel" ones for both my gen 1's... never had a problem with them, but i'll tell you the esam's (ones with tape) are better and i'll tell you why - they are designed better - in the front of the window they are positioned out further away from the window to let air in, and twords the rear of the window, they are closer "in" if that makes sence. you can see in pics of them on gen 1's..this is better the the weather techs, because if you are like me and smoke and ash out the window with the window rolled down a touch, the poor bastard in the back seat gets an eye full of ash.. the esam and esam "style" window visors elliminate this, along with completing the line across the whole window and looking better..

The ones from weathertech ONLY come in the LIGHT tint.. NOT the darker tint... so. consider that when you decide...
bashor.. can you link us to the JCWhitney's set?? I just looked there & all they have is a deflector for the sunroof showing.. They show NO window visors...?? Please look into it & link us, ok?? Thanks.. jh

You're on your own regarding which of the companies have them for the '08 xB.

I have ordered stuff from JC Whitney and they just have stuff drop shipped from Weathertech. So if you get them from Whitney, they will be Weathertech's.

Why would anyone prefer the double sided tape ones to the in channel ones? If you ever break one, or want to just take them off, the double sided tape ones are a PAIN, plus they can mess up your finish...

This is the only board I have ever heard of where people prefer the cheap ___ double sided tape ones....

ive had issues with both. if you get the in channel ones you run the risk of breaking them everytime you close your windows (doesnt happen often but it does). the double sided tape ones take a lot of presure when driven and sometimes the tape gives and there goes your shield at 70mph on a freeway and sometimes rattles against your glass depending on the style (once again doesnt happen often but still does). lets not get to tech...make it easy get the one you think looks better

$95 is cheap??? I bought factory deflectors for my Mitsubishi Outlander last year for $70 and they were perfect.

I had in-channel ones for my 05 xB. they had 3M tape on them facing outwards so it pressed against the frame. they were nice because as other people have said, they are more streamlined. i am definitely interested in these.

I think they meant cheaper that rumion($150 less)

i had these on my '06, the only thing that i don't like about it is that it is removable even if you have your windows shut. someone can easily steal those. I don't know if it's the same with 2nd gen though

My gen 1's are tape and Clips, granted the clips are tiny, but its 2 kinds of adhesion. Falling off at upper speeds is what I'm concerned about.

Has anyone considered Rare-earth magnets? one or two every 3-4 inches? magnets come pretty strong these days, and in various sizes.

I just sent an email to my master distributor for pricing and availability.

I might be able to do a group buy less than the retail price WeatherTech is showing on their web site.

In-channel are better as they are cleaner install. I sell 8 to 1 in-channel.

I sold 50 of them on the tC board all of them in-channel from AVS.
