Default Jacking question

Has anyone been successful in jacking your XB2 with the rear jacking tower? My floor jack just won't lift my XB high enough for the tower to work. If anyone has been successful, what is the jack height required to utilize it?

What do you mean by "jacking tower". I just use the jacking points under the rocker panel specified in the owners manual. I do use a solid 2" aluminum block with a groove cut in it sitting on top of my floor jack to cut the distance between my floor jack and the jacking point on the car. My floor jack needs this block when I jack up my wife's Element or it won't lift it high enough to get the wheel and tire off. Hope this helps.

Look under the rear of the car a little ahead of the rear wheels. There's a single grey post extending down from the chassis.

The tower works just fine with my 3 ton jack.

Cool, do you know the height your jack is capable of going? I've been looking at buying a new jack and I'm not sure which ones will work.

My guesstimate would be approximately a foot.

Don't get some cheapo little jack, get a beefy 2 or 3 ton jack.

Since the tower is about a foot off the ground (haven't lower her yet), the jack would have to have a lift height of 2 feet to work?
