hold down the reset button. I believe about 5-10 seconds. You will see dashes flashing in the odometer screen. Continue to press the button down. You will see the flashing dashes disappear one by one.. once it "counts it down" it will go back to the mileage on the screen. Release the button and you're good to go.
The button Im referring to is the one that you use to reset your trip odometer(s).

oh and for future reference... this light comes on automatically every 5,000 miles.
When you have your oil changed (if you do it at the dealer) their techs know to reset it as part of the service.

Mouse is correct, but these are a little more complete instructions:

Make sure your ODO is on Trip A before turning off the engine. Now with the engine off, hold the ODO/Trip Meter Reset button down & start the engine while continuing to hold the reset button down. You will see 5 dashed lines that disappear one at a time over about 5 seconds. When they have all disappeared, let go of the reset button. You're done.

Oh yeah... my bad... forgot about the turning the key off and then back into the "on" position (one stop before engaging the starter)

Hadn't heard of the make sure it's on the Trip A before. I've never had to do that part on either of my tC's.
