My '06 bcp xB was just totalled on Monday. I'm looking to buy another car. I like EVERYTHING about my xB. (However, wouldn't have minded a little more power for mountains and hills.) Should I get an xB2? Do you like them?

awww man! another one bites the dust
it seems like everybody's out to get us latley. theres been alot of totaled boxes this year. i hope you didnt get injured from the accident. cause thats all that matters! xb 2's have more of a luxury feel than the xb1 did. i like the gen 2 model but not the 2011. thats just my opinion though.

You've asked that question in a forum where the majority of participants have already purchased one because, yes, we like them. They also have the additional power you are looking for, more space inside, and more standard safety features... win, win, win.

Would DEFINITELY recommend an xB2. This is a fantastic car and I love it to death.

Go test drive one and see if you like it. The extra power is nice.

If you can afford it I would say go for it. Never driven one newer than my 04, but I like it, so go for it. Glad to hear you're alright though.

Didn't the lighting for the rear get redesigned for the current year xB? My coworker has one(likely a 2010 year) and the taillights have the reverse integrated like this

I like the '08 myself, something of having all red taillights uninterrupted by the reverse light appeals to me.

In the end the decision is all yours, you know what you can manage and if a new car works and what you want, go for it.

If you dont mind the lower fuel economy its a great vehicle! Its faster, safer and roomier (I think its a foot longer) than the xb1.

I love my 2009 and would absolutely recommend buying one. I do like mine better than the 2011 exterior changes. The only things I like about the 2011 changes are the arm rest/center console is bigger and the seat bolsters are bigger and hold you in more. If you like the look of the 2011 then go for it.

The 2011 xB2 is the one with the integrated reverse lights and reflectors in the bumper covers. If you get lucky, there may still be brand new 2009 xB2s and you'll get those for dirt cheap for a brand new car. Otherwise, the 2010 xB2s are where the tail light, body, and interior changes end. You gotta hurry because when new MY vehicles come on the lot, last MY vehicles disappear.

Is 2.5 the motor size? Or is it considered the generation 2.5? I don't like the looks of the newer ones as much, but I didn't like the first generation either. I remember first noticing the XB right around June of 04. This girl I was with at the time were out, and we were riding in her car, and she passed one, and was telling me how cool they are, and how she wanted one. I thought it looked stupid. Then someone who lived down the street from my mom had one that same month, and I would always notice it, and my friend, and I would giggle about how dumb they were. Six years later to the month I found myself purchasing one, and I still thought it looked dumb the first day I drove it, but it grows on you, and I got used to it. Now I don't think it looks so bad! It was a good car for $5500 bucks! Blue booked for $7500 I couldn't pass it up!

I would say yes :D but then again, it all comes down to whether you can see yourself in one or not... we aren't gonna be driving it, but you are ;]

If I were in your boat and needed to purchase the 2011 xB, I'd black out those reflectors built into the bumper.

The 2.5 is a made up "generation" number and has nothing to do with Toyota/Scion (to say 2.3 is equally valid, or 2 which would be Scion's opinion). The car is actually a 2011 xB2, same engine, drive train, suspension, and sheet metal, but several adjustments elsewhere.
