Default My UOA from blackstone laboratories - PP 0w20 - 5,027 Miles

Note: Silicon is not that far out of wack, they had to correct the universal averages as they first used the numbers from the first xB. At only 2ppm over the norm, that is really nothing, especially when wear is so low!

Overall, VERY happy with the performance of this oil. Wear numbers are lower then normal averages for this engine. Engine was ran quite hard during this period as well, redlining it quite a few times and battling extensive up-hill's in 2 and 3rd gear for minutes at a time on the trip I took prior to the drain. Engine was definitely put to the test! I'm not that easy on it!

Also, my air filter is doing quite well too... Very happy with the Dry Flow!

Thanks for posting this Invertalon. Please update when you get the averages for the right engine.

Those are them... I found the proper averages and edited it in there. So what you see IS correct, but they just may send new comments with the updated information.

But what you see IS the correct info, I found and used that information for the uni. averages.

I'm running Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20 with a mobile 1 filter in mine. Used oil analysis reports on bobistheoilguy.com have sold me on the the pennzoil platinum and m1 filter. It's faily cheap for a synthetic and outperforms the more expensive mobile 1 and castrol syntec available off the shelf.

but what can i take away from this? does this mean that the filter is doing its job?

cause i want to say that seeing these numbers makes me feel that the toyota filter is doing a wonderful job in keeping contaminants lower than average.. if thats the case then that makes me feel better for ordering the 10pack of filters...

It means both the oil and filter are doing their jobs. Oil is probably more "concerning" in UOA's then filters, though.

And I got it done at blackstone laboratories, as the title states.

go to their website and you can get a free kit and just send 22.50 when you ship it back to them.

how many miles are on your ride? Did you notice good fuel miaelege (SP) with the 0W20? The dealership has been putting 5W30 in mine, I believe. The pennzoil may be easier to find in 0W20 than other manufacturers I could only find 0W30 Mobil1...

Actually, PP 0W20 is probably the most difficult oil to find. I ordered mine offline...

I am currently at 22K or something, and that sample was with a little over 5k on the oil itself. No real increase in mpg that I know of, but in summer I average 30-33mpg. I don't think that has much to do with the 0W20 grade though, I did the same with 5W20. I use 0W20 in winter just because of how cold it is, better protection. No real use to use 0W20 in summer months, as 5w20 will be a very similar viscosity.

Why 0w30? Stick with 20 weight. No need for anything else. 30 weight will effect your mpg negatively as well.
