Default My Xb got hit by a boat today.

I can't belive it my xb has only 600 miles on it still on the second tank of gas and today it gets hit by a Boat. No not a very large car but a real boat it was a jon boat. I was at the local boat dealer today looking at a boat and sitting in the office trying to make an offer on a boat. I was parked across the street. While haggling over price the owner came into the office and mentioned one of there boats had just hit the blue car across the street. I thought it was a joke at first then relized he was serious. They had been moving a boat across the street with a tractor and when they entered the parking lot the trailer tires hopped over the curb and the trailer came loose from ball. It proceed to roll out of control right into the front of my parked Xb. (my wifes car) Needless to say I got the boat for dealer cost picking it up tomorrow. Took Car to body shop just over 1700.00 in damage new hood, bumper, and right front headlamp assembly. I will be sure to leave my wifes car at home next time.

does auto insurance cover collisions with aquatic vehicles?

"your xb hit a boat, sir, at what time did you deside to take your car for a swim?"

was the cost of the repairs less or more then you saved on the boat?

Could be a score in the long run lol

Ouch that sucks, I wouldn't even try to go thru insurance for this one, I'd make the boat company pay for it in full.

Yea, i can't see why this isn't the boat companies fault. Actually the guy driving the tractor is. Sucks. Crazy story for sure though.

Boat place is covering all cost of repairs and rental car while in body shop. The owner felt really bad, he has never had this happen before. I was glad to hear this is the first time but why my car. Oh well no structal damage just some body parts will look good as new in a few weeks. Having the best body shopin the area doing the work. Crazy thing is I parked the car there thinking it was completly safe never thought about a boat hitting it. I am sure this is the first 2nd gen xb to get by a boat. I should get a thropy for this.

Yeh I am afraid to go near an airport now. I wonder what the chance of being hit by a kangaroo is?

That sucks, it just goes to show that boat driver should stay in the water, they cant drive at all on land. They hit parked cars!!!!! At least you got a good story out if it. I figured you got fit by a land yacht by the title. Not an actual boat
