Default Need help with installing mobileHID!

Hi,

I just got my H11 5000K kit yesterday. Played around with it but failed to do the following couple of things:

1) I tried fitting the new bulb in but to no avail. The OEM bulbs use a twist on/off mechanism to secure itself onto the housing, and there are three tabs at the base of the OEM part for that purpose. However the mobileHID part doesn't have those tabs. So how to you guys secure your new bulbs in place??? Actually the mobileHID does have 3 tabs but they are found on the inner ring of the base which prevents the bulb to be inserted all the way into the housing. I'm confused!!!

2) I tried hooking up all the wires and touched the + and - wire to the + and - terminal on the battery ("touched" ... I didn't screw them in). My new HID didn't power up. Do I really have to screw them onto the +/- battery terminals to get a good enough power connection?

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

Be sure to remove the rubber seal around the original light bulb. Otherwise you won't be able to fit it in.

Right...the rubber seal should come out with the original bulb, but sometimes is stays in the socket.

make sure you ordered the correct bulb style (H11 i think)and just touching the wires up to your battery won't turn them on. You need a signal from your stock headlight harness to the relay to switch it on. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response guys!
The rubber seal did come out with the bulb. I just couldn't figure out how the mobileHID one gets fitted into the housing. So are you guys telling me that you didn't have to do any modification? All you had to do was put in the new bulb, turn it clockwise, and it's locked?

If that's the case, Clifford might have sent me the wrong part despite the fact that I had ordered a H11 kit.

Yeah, mine just turned in like the stock bulb... It was as easy as it sounds, lol.

I think you got the wrong bulbs. Check the box, usually a sticker on there saying H7, H11, etc...

The box says H11 5000k.
Our xB2 uses H11 bulbs, right?

Yes, it uses H11 for both low beam and fog lights. Maybe you are trying to put them in the high beam which uses 9005. That would explain them not fitting.

hold the stock bulbs & the mobilehid bulbs next to each other. if theyre not the same, then youve got the wrong bulbs
