I just got new orange bulbs for the trunk and personal lights for 08' xb does any one know how to remove the housing for the personal lights and trunk. I dont ant to break anything. Im not a car guy. Any help would be appreciated. [/b]

 

 

Thanks I will post pictures, I will try the hatch light next, I did the dome yesterday and that worked fine. I will have to find out about the personl lights,no one seems to know

the personal lights / map lights come out the same way. Small flat head at the corner where the lamp covers meet on the side furthest away from the dash.

Simplexb...just an F.Y.I. the 31 mm work but they are little tight, Im new to this so I asked around a bunch and everyone said that the 31mm would work and they seem to work fine, the trunk light was a bit tough and once its on it has to say on, the on/off switch does not seem to work well with the bigger bulb.

Newbee how many LED bulb did you get for your trunk and dome light? and wat do u mean that the trunk light does not respond to on and off switch? would it always be on then or something?

 

No it is only on when the trunk opens like it should, but the 31mm is a bit big so the switch does not really work any more because the little meatal part that holds the bulb is pushed out, if you changethe light you will see what I mean.

I got 1 9 led dome light, two 194 w wedge bulbs for the map/personal lights, and single led for the trunk.

If you are going to do the map lights pull the whole housing out it in there tight but if you pull hard it will pop off, DONT try and change the bulbs while the housing is in...beleive me.Just becarefull pulling down the housing because there is not much slack in the wires the connect the lamps.

 

I have a 31mm bulb in the hatch and the on/off switch still works.

 

Mine seems not to...or I should say that it will turn off when the door is closed, but manually it seems to be stuck on, like there is too much pressure on the the little metal piece that holds the bulb, do have any sugestions?
