Need help selling scion XB
Hi, I'm Jim, and I know I never post here. Or haven't since I bought my Xb. Unfortunately the payments are killing me and I need to sell it. Now I need help. I owe 15,300 and selling it for what I owe. Is this a reasonable price? Will I get this much? does anyone want to buy it? Its perfect inside and out. There is a fingernail size scratch on it on one of the back doors, its got 15% tint, an avic z2 pioneer, and a viper alarm with remote start. Its black and has 40,000 miles on it. I would send pics but it's filthy and needs a good cleaning.
Hope to get good advice!

No one is going to buy your 40k miles 08 xb for $15k when they can buy a new one for $16.5K. Your best bet is to hang in there and keep making the payments, you will be upside down on your loan for sure if you try to sell it.

This is basically what I found when just running basic info through edmunds. Things could change by zip code or whatever though, but it looks like you'd be upside down.

Depending on your current interest rate (and possibly credit score) you could try refinancing with a local credit union or another bank. Could save you a little bit of $$. Also check your insurance deductibles... if you want a lower insurance premium, you can increase the deductibles to maybe $500 (or higher). But you have to be careful there because it can bite you hard if something happens and you have to come up with $500 or $1000 just to get it fixed.

Well considering that you bought your box for probably around 17k and now you owe 15, I'd think that refinancing won't save you too much money. Your best bet is to try and get your insurance costs down. Refinancing isn't the way to go.
Try a quote from Progressive. They have a killer online sign up discount and have great service and benefits with them.
Also, think about your fuel costs. Try driving slower on interstates and use cruise control more. Try coasting to lights rather than driving stop-and-go.
70% of my driving is on the interstate, and let me tell you what, I save an additional $200 a month by driving at 66 in the right lane. The benefit is that you're saving fuel, you're driving safer, you're avoiding aggressive driving, you're reducing your chances for getting a ticket, and you're reducing your risk for getting into an accident. It's a win-win you cannot afford to miss out on. Plus, it only adds anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes on traditional travel time. I love having an extra $200 money in my pocket rather than wasting it on fuel.
And as proof of how much you save in fuel costs, I am now average 310 miles per fill up. Before, I burned up my fuel at a little over 200 miles. Basically I was getting 22 mpg on freeway and less in city because of stupid driving techniques So I would get anywhere from 210-240 miles per fill up. I was driving extremely inefficiently then and am now very pleased with my savings in fuel economy due to smarter driving. I average 310 miles but sometimes get it up to 325, but I am dangerously low around then. That's almost 100 additional miles of driving, and that's worth every penny with the distance I have to drive daily.
