so i was drifting my little brothers HPI E10 rc until it went out of control and went into a main road and got ran over by a rav4 going atleast 45mph. oh when i grabbed it from the road my key ended up coming off of my lanyard and got ran over when i went out and looked for it 45 minutes later.

point of story, all the electronics work, i just need a new casing.

 

You can order just the casing for one at the dealership it'll be around $15. I sadly don't work at the dealer anymore so I can't even give you part numbers I just know you can order the housing.

 

that made my night! all i need is the casing, i can swap in my electrics and the transponder, thats the only thing that worries me, getting it out.

 

It's a small almost polygon piece. It's an all in one plastic piece surrounded by the housing. I had to replace batteries in them while I worked for Toyota.

nope the transponder is the actual puny microchip, the polygon thing was easy to get out.
its in the rectangle in the right of the key casing

 

Hey bro get the flip key on eBay looks cool and is super easy to work just swap everything over than cut the key and all done

Really? I've been using my spare (the housing for my transponder broke, and the key part actually FELL out. I didn't feel like spending $50+ just for a key.

If I can make it fit in the flip housing, heck yeah!

yeah just did this to mine. my whole key cracked. off the housing. so i bought a flip key got it cut and transferred the "guts" into the new key along sith the transponder. awesome 13$ i ever apent and it looks cool

 

Just look in eBay they sell as a set or even single I would buy the set

 

 

I can't find the one I bought anymore but it's similar to that one i got mine on Dino direct
