Default New guy, just wanted to say hey

Hey all, just thought I'd introduce myself! I just picked up my 2nd gen xb from a salvage yard in the middle of nowhere this week...and am waiting on parts to fix it

I love the car more than I thought I would, and have been contemplating all sorts of different ideas /themes to take the car in!

Anyway, Ive been trolling around for a few days, it looks like a great place and I hope to get to know you all!

Well, I'd love to buy a beautiful old rustbucket for pennies to fix up...but Im an art major, and am scraping my pockets to get this thing together as is :D. I work with TBI patients, and we cruise around quite a bit (also, my commute is about 30 miles one way) so I needed something that would fit 3-4 guys and a crapload of art supplies (also, I've always had a secret obsession with xb's) .

Luckily, here in KY, charisma can go a long way! Chatting with the guy who owns the salvage yard got me a number for some "good old boys" who do bodywork....so I went and shot the breeze with them.....now Im getting the bodywork done for less than the body pieces themselves .

Soooooo...without further adeu, here she is:

The good..

The bad.....

And the really ugly.

All the pieces came in today, and these guys are QUICK (they replaced a rear clip in three days..its a father (75) and son (50) team who have been doing it for decades).

Hopefully more pictures of primered bumpers and fenders galore coming soon!

:D
all with .

Not too bad in the front... i had a similar encounter with my left front fender and bumper.
The rear seems like it will be more work, no?

I would hope that as an art student, we can expect some good designs/ something unique somewhere along the car?
Good luck!

very cool man, well glad to hear everythings working out for you, and that you were able to get a car that you truly enjoy. looks like whatever bit that xB had a nasty bite but...well as long as it's in the right hands then you've nothing to worry about.

Enjoy!
