Default New to the Scion world...

Hey everyone!
I am new to the Scion world. I can be your typical girly girl but can also be that girl that can sit around and talk cars all day. I just purchased my RS 8.0 XB in March and I am absolutely in love with it! Nothing but wheels done to her so far but I have big plans. First things first.. I want to do CF everything... hood, hatch, spoiler, fenders. Would also like to powder coat the wheels a bronze-ish gold (I think it would look great with the voodoo blue) And eventually start work under the hood (turbo would be awesome!) Since I am new to the scion world, I don't know the best places to buy parts. I am all about making my car unique (hence getting a RS lol) so any advice would be much appreciated! I am hoping to learn a lot from you guys.

Welcome to Scion !

If you want Carbon Fiber parts you might want to look at SEIBON.. http://seiboncarbon.com/

If you want to go turbo you have 3 options yet available : Descendant (world Racing), Greddy or a kit made here in Quebec Canada by JDM Transplant.

The 2011 is virtually identical (99.9+%) to the 2008-2010, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah the only main difference I have noticed is The scion emblem on the front is in a different location, making the top grille smaller, and the bumper different to make room for the emblem. so I'm not sure if that affects the size of the hood or not. and the fact that the 2011s don't have the one reverse light in the back bumper, but they do have 2 reflectors in the back bumper now.

I LOVE the look of CF! I think it just looks so sexy! My husband has a cf hood on his 95 civic and it just looks so good and so different! As long as it is OEM style and not some ridiculous looking "evo style" or anything like that. Not bashing anyone that does like that style, I just don't particularly like them. I like a nice clean look on my car. And I also like the difference in weight.

Good luck in your carbon fiber venture. Descendant is a great company to work with.

Welcome and good luck.
I like the CF look when people fade into it with paint. When you are at a show and you have to look twice. Keep posting pics and good luck again.

I'm pretty certain there are no sheet metal changes at all. The front and rear fascia changed (as you said) plus new seats, steering column, between seats console, and instrument display. I think that covers it.

From a post by a local body shop they claim the 2011 front facia will not directly mount on the '08-'10. Not sure why. Headlights do look larger on the '11.

Yes, the fascia change makes the headlights appear a little different, but they're actually the same. It could be there are differences in the bumper backing structure (most specifically, the shock absorbing foam), since that will have to follow the fascia design. The metal fenders and hood are unchanged.

It would indeed be interesting to learn exactly why the body shop is saying that.
