I have only had my 08 xB three months now and and heve been wanting to do some mods but really couldnt do it because of "budget limitations". My father decides this week to give me enough money to pay off EVERYTHING that I owe. My God I was floored! Thanks Dad!!!! Dont get me wrong I work very hard and pay my bills on time. Also the wife and kids come first but now Im gonna be a moddin fool! I never thought something like that would happen to me so guys keep the faith!

 

hey congrats! i feel you on the 'budget limitations' part. i had my xB like a month & i can only do little things here & there, like tints & HIDs lol! but hey, if my xB was paid off, id save up for air suspension, 19s & then a rumion conversion. in that order!

if i were you, i'd prioritize the money a little differently. maybe make small payments back to dad for a while (if he'll let you).

Yeah I thought the same thing about paying Dad the money back but he wont hear it.He came into a lot of money recently and he said that he just wanted to help me out. This is a dream come true for me having everything paid off. No house payment no nothing but utilities. Heres to the best Dad

My dad is 76 years old and could probably kick my ___! No retirement home for him! He still washes and waxes his own cars. Hes quite the amazing old guy I hope to be someday.

definately save atleast 50% of what you where paying, or atleast the old house note..
Dropping a house note into savings a month can definately help you in the future more then anything else.

 

I love it twenty somethings telling a 45 year old family man to save money, wow!

F all that noise. spend that money. Mod that box. Your old man is wise as old. It all gets left behind when you go. You should at least get the joy of watching what a little extra money can do for a good hard working person.

A huge burden has been lifted from you yoke and all parts of your life will improve as a result.

Well so far I havent decided what I will do. I really dont know what to do with myself? No bills? WTF? Im gonna just let all of this sink in for a little while before I do anything. I am planning on staggered 20s, lowering springs and some audio. I dont know who is happier, me or my Dad. You can see it in his face and hear it when he talks, he is so pleased that he could do this for me. He always had to work so hard just to make ends meet and now he has more than he knows what to do with.

 

Just dont go overboard and get back into debt and payments.

 

Wait, when you say EVERYTHING, do you mean car, house, credit card and all loans? I was jealous of you just getting rid of the car payment, but if it's everything, then just WOW. I'm hoping to have all that paid off in maybe 30 years or so
