It was supposed to be funny. hence why i ended with the mafia and bad neighborhood joke. it is the extreme messed up way of going about it, and you wind up getting really screwed in the end.

Good enough then

I have known people who would have taken your advice for gospel though and thought I'd make sure.

No no...this isn't the church of HRH. nothing i say should be taken seriously. unless i use the word seriously in what i am saying.

so...seriously. if you really want to get out of the lease/finance with the eclipse, you can try to find someone who would take over the payments for you. figure out how much it will be to buy it out and then try to sell it for that price (or more if you wanna have a down payment for another car). I think there is even a website that you can list your car on with the payment information and length of the contract that people can go on and see it. i saw it a while ago on the news that people were trading cars and whatnot.

Royal Moore. Picked up hours after they showed up on the lot in early May.

I spend most of my time in the Orenco/Tanasbourne areas. I've recently seen a blackberry xB2 running around - that you? You don't work at FEI, do you?

It was a good six weeks after I got mine before I saw another.

I have different plates now since this is a 'replaced' car from Beaverton Scion

Cool. (and we've now officially hijacked this thread and turned it into the PNW Spotted thread.) My wife works at FEI as well for now - she's on a short-term contract there.

What is a "replaced" car?

Gotta love "small world" event... even if it does require hijacking a good thread.

Beaverton Scion did a very dumb thing to my car that wouild have required they replace ALL the glass and trim to correct. They volunteered the option of a replacement. That was pretty cool of them to do although it would have been the least I would accept. We're good now.

How do you like dealing with Royal Moore? I really don't want Beaverton touching my car for any reason.

That sounds painful. Glad I haven't had to deal with that.

I'll honk next time I see you - maybe that'll wake you up

Understandable after a screwup like that.

RM's been fine. I bought my '06 xB there a year ago May, and the new one this May. Anyone who spends any time on here will be more informed than their sales staff, but I've had no gripes with the service department. The morning I was scheduled to get my remote starter installed, they called and said they needed to postpone as they hadn't received the schematics for the new car yet and their electrician didn't want to even open the hood without them. It was nice of them to call instead of telling me when I arrived.

I haven't had a situation that would call for them to go above and beyond, but they've handled the basic stuff as I'd expect. After I did finally get the starter installed, I hung around for another 20 minutes or so as a salesman walked a customer over and asked if she could look at the car. (they didn't have one on the lot.) Then a mechanic came over and chatted a bit about it.

Some of the people there do seem enthused about what they do, but they don't seem to be the initial customer-facing group. I probably wouldn't go there for any vehicle that required haggling. That said, they offered me exactly the price I expected for my trade-in, so that also went well.

I guess, I'd say "don't expect to be blown away, but I'd be surprised if you were screwed over."

Sounds like I'll give em a shot at the oil change. I bought my last new car from them back in '86. They were professional and I appreciated that. Sounds like they are still that way. Thanks for the input. I'll be listening for that horn of yours
