Talking Picking up my new 2012 xB tomorrow!

I'm so excited. Stingray metallic, five speed.

Anything I should look for? any known problem areas? I saw a guy on Reddit who was having a bunch of electrical problems from new.

Just wondering. .

Congrats! Only thing that will survive a nuke war will be Twinkies, roaches, Toyotas (our Scions) and Keith Richards so you have nothing to worry about. Enjoy the car.

I took delivery of my 2012 stingray metallic 5 speed this past Monday and I love it. No issues in the 5 days I've had it. I was told one common problem is leaking coolant around the water pump but mine seems to be fine. You'll love this car.

Pyro - thanks for taking a look. How about this one from the scion booth at the la auto show:

I have found a couple of other pics around - will post them when I am by a computer (on my phone now).

Thanks again

In my experience, both Xb's have been super reliable.
If you plan on modifying any of the electrical system, avoid using splices as the wires are so thin. Use something that connects into the wiring harness with proper fitting connectors instead. Or run a power line from the battery with it's own fuse if installing something with a high power draw.

I just went to the PHX car show, which just went thru LA and is going around the country and I was surprised to see both the Xb Mk2 and Xd on display along with the iQ, FRS and Tc - wonder what that means?

Well we don't really know that for sure. Toyota only said that there would be no new model XB(Gen3) to follow the current model XB(Gen2). A lot of us take this info to mean that the XB will be discontinued at the end of 2012 but that is not what Toyota said, they said no new model of XB will be made after the current version is finished(Gen2). This means in theory Toyota can make and sell the 2nd gen XB for years.

So Toyota only said no gen3 XB and not that the gen2 XB is discontinued after 2012

Darcars Toyota Silver Spring MD said that they expect a 2013 XB at the beginning 2013. This was a higher up person at Darcars and not a salesman. When I questioned this person as to why would Toyota wait to 2013 to start selling the 2013 XB instead of late 2012(Sept-Oct) like they did with all the other cars in Toyota's lineup and he said he did not know BUT also told me that Toyota has not offered a 2013 Scion iQ yet ether and it is unlikely that Toyota would kill off a car they only offered for a year.

So the jury is still out on a 2013 XB
