Camera phones are banned. They have said that there will be a camera concierge, so they can be brought to the event, just not in it. The phones without cameras, well I don't know on those.

I would say they would catch you in the actual picture taking.

And then what? They can't confiscate the phone, and they aren't going to rough you up. The worst is that they'll ask you to leave, and then you post your pics on the internet to be a hero.

Depending on what they had everybody sign, it may not be that simple.

They can threaten you with enough legal action to rethink that whole internet hero fame.

What law would you be breaking? Legal action? It would have to be a federal court.

I've been to small cocnerts to where no pics/camera phones were allowed. They did check everyone's phone, and if you had a camera phone they wouldn't let you in until you got rid of it...So it is has been done befoere, but who's to say that Scion will go to that trouble

I am guessing that the security will be pretty tight. I am taking my phone, and my camera. I have been told that there will be a camera concierge there, and I expect that I will be required to surrender them. Car manufacturers tend to be quite sensitive about having their products leaked. If my assumptions are wrong, you will have pictures this week.

The law is the least of your worries, if I was toyota, and I know they've already thought of and done it. They'd make everyone sign an NDA as part of the entry form. So, if you take a picture of the new Xb replacement, while you may have internet glory, and commited no crimes, you are in breach of contract, and can be sued for everything you own. BTW in civil litigation NDA breaches are usually open and closed cases.

There are easy ways around an NDA in this case. Anonymous postings from an account that uses a bogus email address and sent from an internet cafe where you pay cash can not be traced back.

We all just have to sit back and wait to see what happens.

my guess is that they are spending something like 500,000 - 1,000,000 on this event . . . i doubt they'll skimp on security . . . seems like a triviality.

I will give anyone who sneaks a pic out of the new xB $1. You won't be photographing these cars. It just won't happen, and if you do, they will take your phone. I bet you even sign some agreement before walking through the door.

yeah a million bux and fly by night security . . . ain't gonna happen, lol.

Alright, you're gonna tell me that some Nigerians can steal millions of bucks from the American populace and not get caught, but nobody here can figure out how to a) take an anomynous pic and b)get that pic on the internet?

Default Re: Question about the new "xB"

I called the people who are running the show in Miami because I am thinking of buying an xB. I was told no Cameras will be allowed. I also heard rumors that "electronic tint/shades" for the glass windows and sunroof will be available as an option for the 2008 xB. Can some of those attending the Miami Show... check this out, please?

So..........This begs the question..........WHEN DO WE GET TO SEE THE NEW Xb????
