Default Taking Delivery Tomorrow...

Taking delivery of my new 2010 Super White xB tomorrow! In 05 I bought a 2006 BSP xA, loved it (should still be pictures floating around on here) but traded it in for something I could have more fun with - 2002 Civic Si...did a bunch of autoXing with it over the last 3 years. Long story short, it got totaled last week in a snowstorm and the insurance was very fair, so I'll be picking up my white xB tomorrow!

Had the car since Wednesday....love it. I'd post pictures but we all know what a stock super white xB looks like at this point. This is my fourth car and 3rd that I've modded...(88 Corolla GTS, 06 Scion xA, 02 Civic Si)...I can't be dumping money into it, too many other things to save for at this point in my life. The only thing I'm thinking is a set of wheels so I can have winter tires on the my stocks and change them out easily myself without paying a tire shop to change them on the rims twice a year. I'll do a search on it (promise) but I'm wondering what to do about the TPMS and aftermarket wheels...

I'll be prowling the boards a lot to learn more about the box!

I'd say move the TPMS sensors onto the new wheels whenever you get them. The new wheels & tires will be more expensive to replace, so you'll want to know if anything is going wrong. The stock steelies with OEM tires won't matter near as much from a cost standpoint; just make sure you check the tire pressure regularly since running on low pressure during the winter is a bad thing.

A-men, Bro ! Put a set of snows on the steelies and pick up a nice set of aftermarket rims for the rest of the year -- move the TPMS sensors to those. Some want to have sensors on both sets of rims, but I don't see it myself. Lot's of hassle in setting up the monitor each change and it really isn't that big a deal to manually verify your pressure for the very few weeks you run the snows.

Go for it !

Actually, running somewhat low pressure in the snow is not that bad an idea, it increases the tread contact area and hence traction. However, it's still appropriate to track the pressure, you don't want any unfriendly surprises while driving !

Yea, just a little low is OK. I was referring to significantly low (I know I didn't word it that way, but I thought it would be implied), which could lead to one of those "unfriendly surprises" out in the freezing cold weather... no fun to deal with, and potentially hazardous.
