Thinking of a change want out of the Xb
Hey all my name is John and I am new here. Before I bought my XB three weeks ago I was set on a new mini cooper/clubman. However my wife and I wanted to be able to afford a nicer house so I found a compromise car, the XB. The mini was far more fun to drive and gets better gas mileage but I bought a great car that serves the purpose. Once my wife is more settled in her job and earning top wages in a few years she says (yes I know I am whipped) that I can look at getting myself a newer car. It will be a toss up between a mini, Audi A5/S5 or Infiniti G37. Of course I love cars so who knows what will tickle my fancy then. I can't wait however to start modding my XB, don't know where to start.
Hey D I love your mini, so jealous.
My daughter is 8 and she has already told me that your mini is basically what she wants for her first car.
Go with the mini if you MUST change.

I'm not sure what price range you're looking at, but what about an Acura RDX? It has plenty of room, one of "The Best" interiors I have seen in a car with a butt load of options. Not to mention the turbo K23 is a blast to drive! Even though it's a heavy mini suv, it has faster in every aspect compared to a TL and you get all that extra storage.
Another car that I've owned and loved was the Mazda3. And I'm thinking about picking up a MazdaSpeed3. Again, it has plenty of room in the hatch version and blows away every other 4 banger in it's class. The Sport GT version I owned was amazing, and honestly handled and felt like a mini BMW.....and the MazdaSpeed version has got to be even better? Just my 2 cents if you're looking for some really fun practical cars with decent MPG.

I have driven both and enjoyed both. The speed3 is super quick for what I was used to which was larger trucks and SUVs. The seats are a bit snug for widebodies like myself but not to bad. Ultimately the price for premium over regular is minimal when you are looking at a 14.5 gallon tank. At 20 cents a gallon your looking at under $3.00 extra a tank. The RDX was also quite enjoyable to drive and had perhaps one of the plushest interiors in its class. Sorry to be of no help I don't envy you in having to make a choice as there are so many nice vehicles to choose from.

Unless you get the supercharged or turbo Mini or a Civic Si, both of those are a downgrade IMO.
