Default Tinted Tails

Well I decided to tint my tails this past weekend. They came out awesome. No defects or anything. I've done a few of these on my past cars and friends cars and they come out better and better. They aren't as dark as they show in the pic, but they are dark enough to not see red but they still light up perfect.

I am selling them though, only because I live in a neighborhood full of policemen.

But yea, just thought Id show em off a little before I put em up for sale.

Im not sure yet. The supplies cost me a little, but not alot. Probably around $100 and then a core charge of $100 just incase I don't get the other set back.

LOL^^

You sound like Im trying to make a business out of this. If you read the original post:

"I am selling them though, only because I live in a neighborhood full of policemen."

Go for it bud. The market is yours, along with about 50 other people doing the same thing. Have fun with it.

Who are YOU to say that I am ripping people off when my intention was to just sell my tails. Ive seen many people buy more ridiculous things on forums including a pipe with a flange on one end and a tip on the other for around $300 from Borla. Give me a break. Most people don't want to spend the time to find a can of this locally (or buy it on eBay or something), have to sand, polish wax, paint, clear, etc... Im not saying that people don't know how to do this (properly) as its somewhat of a challange to get it right, Im just saying most people don't really care to know. No one said anything about me using a can of VHT niteshades. You can do that if you feel like it coming out with a matte finish. There are a few more methods out there that prove a much nicer finish.

Im not sure if you think you know marketing my friend, but please don't jump in a tell people I am ripping them off. Be respectful.

Personally I do think it's way overpriced. Just because you have a buyer that doesn't justify the price.
ie- There was a guy here that bought a $5 intake piece for $25.

And that is how the marketing world runs. Get used to it.

By all means, start a VHT niteshading business for $50 a pop. Understand that you won't make much after overhead, shipping and such.

Just so you understand, I was thinking about selling my tails for a great price for a great set of tails that look and FEEL pristine. And that is hard to come by if you don't want to do it yourself.

Enjoy gentlemen. Maybe I will post a DIY about how to do it with these lights and then make one for your VHT niteshades.

Thats funny, but instead, Ill send you the $5 and you spray paint your lights black. Afterwards, let me know how it feels to not have any tails.

Its funny how people tend to think its so easy. Maybe for some it comes perfect, but the majority of the time, it takes time, patience and know how to get it really shiny, almost like your paint and then keep it that way. Just my $.02.

But thanks for the compliments.

wow, give the guy a chance.

Lol even if its not a "great deal" but to have rebuttals regarding your defense of pricing, is understandable, but to bring in the aspects of marketing, and to have whipaz reply"Personally I do think it's way overpriced. Just because you have a buyer that doesn't justify the price.
ie- There was a guy here that bought a $5 intake piece for $25."
He has a right to his opinion.

and then your reply to his response being" And that is how the marketing world runs. Get used to it. " Means your not looking out for your consumer, your looking to just profit as much as possible from you misinformed customer "because thats the way the marketing world runs". and honestly it seems alot of scion lifer's are pretty frugal. But to basically state that you were looking for a sucker to buy your item at whatever sucker price you set it at, and for whispaz to comment seems justified. I wouldn't put up anything if i wasn't ready for the criticisms that would ensue, esp posting on a message board.. Come on buddy, anything we say and post can be criticized on all message boards..
Anyways isn't this supposed to be listed in the classified section? Maybe a mod might look into this.

But anyways, good luck with your sale.

Sorry, I had to jump in on this one. You guys have no idea how much people are willing to pay for tinted tails like this. On the Charger forums, there are people paying $300-$400 for a set of STOCK tinted tails. It blows my mind! My buddy and I have have tinted every head/tail light in our club. It's not hard, but it does take time and patience. For people that have never done, but like the look, they are willing to pay to have it done for them. When I saw Sizz was selling them for $100, I thought the price was low.

Nzaw, I see where you are coming from. I understand what your saying but I have the right to backup an piece of work that I created myself. I am not a SELLER. People are getting that confused. I am simplying trying to show off my lights and was suggesting that I will probably sell them because of my situation. I understand effective criticism VERY well. I work in customer service all day everyday, however I don't appreciate it when people come in and try to undermind something I hold to a certain level of craftmentship. I understand that during these times, money is short and people are frugal. ____, Im cheap. But everyone has been through the economics class in high school: supply and demand.

I hope you see where I am coming from.

Anyways, thanks for the comments. I like seeing people admire my work and I would like others to show off theirs so we can see their work as well, better or worse.

Also, Im not selling these only because people have been giving me crap about like these past few people. I don't know who your trying to impress or express authority, but saying stuff like "Maybe a mod might look into this." is being a little ridiculous. No need to act like children. I am simply showing off my work and mentioned selling them as a possibilty. I don't classify this as a selling article.
