Default Tools

Well I finally went out for a mission and purchased all my parts and accessories. Tanabe Strut Tower Bar, Tanabe Front Under Brace, Tanabe NF210's, Window Visor, and Front and Rear StopTech Rotors/PosiQuiet Pads. Did i mention i saved a bundle.

So back to my Tools topic...I went out to Sears and other shops to purchase some necessary tools. Ridiculous.....The prices on these tools are sky high these days. For a basic socket/ratchet wrench was like 10-15 bucks....FOR ONE . ECONOMY IS TAKING A TOLL.......................

Pics tobe shown soon........................

The only way to buy tools (especially sears) is in the kits - and even better if they're having another sale. Like I just saw a commercial for a 150 or so piece mechanics set for like $75.

Buying individual stuff at Sears is just insane.

If you want to save money on tools go to Harbor Frieght. They aren't Snap On Tools quality, but they'll get the job done.

yeah, definitely wait till they have a sale... which they seem to have quite often. thats the best time to get the sets.

i know the day after thanksgiving is normally their biggest sale, but thats quite some time away if you can wait that long

Very nice call Sciond, but I wonder how many people on this site are young enough to not have any idea what movie that line is from since it came out 27 years ago...

Craftsman sets are definitely a good buy though, when on sale.
Lifetime warranty on hand tools, hard to beat that!

If you're talking about Craftsman, they have a lifetime warranty and an excellent rep (second only to Snap-On), so don't cry over the prices, they never were cheap!

As advised above -- watch for sales or else go for a less expensive brand.

I manage a Pawn shop and i can tell you never buy new hand tools, better tool companies dont care if you bought then new or used, if they break they replace them. personally i run snap-on/mac/matco and can all be found at less than 50% retail at pawn shops, not much over craftsman and you get tools you can be proud of. never ever ever ever buy harbor freight thats the quickest way to rounded bolts using cheap sockets and wrenches.
Check your local shops, youd be duprised
