I went camping again this week and found out that there is a mouse now residing in my beloved xB. I'm not sure where it is, but I have cleaned everything out of the car that could entice it. I think it's moved into the ventilation system. Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of it? I tried snap traps, but the wiley guy just took the bait without setting the trap off. Have some glue traps waiting for it in there now.

I'm hoping he'll go for the little dab o' peanut butter on the glue traps and find himself stuck. Mwahahaha!

 

Peanut butter works great as a bait in the snap traps as well. If it is a very small mouse setting off the trap may be an issue. Set it for the easiest release possible (can be some adjustment by barely engaging the catch...BUT WATCH YOUR FINGERS!!)

 

fold the rear seats flat. lay out some snap traps with peanut butter and some rat posion. lay the front seats back. turn on the car close the windows and blast the heat.

lemmie know how that works out.

 

A lot of rodents like to setup shop in the blower box. Remove the pollen filter & check for debri of a nest.

Snap traps is the ticket, try rubber banding the "bait" to the trap.

 

catch it, put in in white gloves, and some red shorts, and keep it in a cage in the backseat

Caught 2 of the little buggers in about an hour one night. Tiny bit of peanutbutter before the door, dropped a small piece of cracker with peanutbutter on it into the tube so it stuck to the back. Put trap near hole and waited. about 2 bucks at Walmart. Up to you whether you want to drop them off far away or drown 'em.

 

Your best bet is one of those humane mouse traps. The snappers may hurt the mouse, but not trap it, and it may run and die somewhere, on top of scattering its blood all over.

Get the humane trap, trap it, and take it somewhere to let it go. Do the right thing!

 

Yes get the humane trap and duct tape a rock to it and throw it in a lake or creek.
