Default vane pump pulley

Alright so, I was chasing down a bad bearing and found it

It's the bearing to the "vane pump" or Electric steering pump
It's held on by a single nut, so I was wondering has anyone else had to replace it, can I just do the pulley?

What pulley? To the best of my knowledge there is no pulley for our power steering. Can you post a picture of it?

it's the rear pulley
I'm starting to wonder if the engine had been swapped or not..

Can I just bypass this useless pulley at this point?

Your picture didn't show. If you are talking about the pulley at the rear back passenger side of the engine it isn't connected to the power steering at all. It is just an idler pulley put in place of the hydraulic power steering pump so that Toyota didn't need to change the belt or the routing and could keep everything the same as the cars with the 2AZ-FE engine that do have a pump there.

Here is a pic of what I'm talking about.

In the upper right of the picture is the power steering pump on a 03 Camry. In place of it we just have an idler pullet that doesn't do anything except keep the belt in place.

If that is what is making the noise then yes you can go ahead and replace it with a new pulley and bearing easily.

Here is what we have in place of the power steering pump.

I've never found the whole assembly available. I did find a few of the pulleys on Ebay but honestly I haven't looked to hard. You might hit up that Ebay link I posted to see if it comes with the mount. He's had that up for well over a month and no bites. Other than that dealer or Rockauto possibly.

I got the pulley/bearing itself at advance 49.99.
Nightmare job.

you have to remove passenger side motor mount, loosen the front mount, and lower the motor to clear the bolt from wheel well.
other then that, eezy peezy
