Where is the best place to buy HID's?
I've been looking around and there are so many differnt people selling HID's and all of them have the best kits.
Ive never done HIDs and i want somthing cheap, simple and safe. BTW how hard are HID's to install? Im not sure what color i want either i think 4300k or maybe 10,000k does anyone know what the GMC Acadia has? it seems to change colors.
Not trying to be a dcik, but try searching, as for the install almost, if not all are direct plug and play now a days, and as for the color, the higher the K the harder it will be to see imho, Go with 4300k or 6000k max FTMFW!
I almost guaranty that the Acadia has 5000k since that is the stock color on most if not all cars with stock HIDs, unless they have an aftermarket bulb. The color change comes from the Projector style headlights and the colors refract of the lense, but I think one of the best deal you can get is ebay, thats where I got mine and 7 months later they are going strong.
yes I got mine from ebay almost 4 years ago, it was SOYA HID kit, never had a problem, but I recently took them out and switched for some Lminecs 3500ks, I like the visibility I have with them, they are incredible, I was sick of getting crap from the 5-0

As for who to buy from, our forum sponsor MobileHID ( www.mobilehid.com ) is a FANTASTIC place. I recently purchased a 4300k kit from them... outstanding quality. Plus the owner, Clifford, is a great guy to deal with. Very flexible, honest, open w/ communication, etc.

Im also in the market for some HID's for my XB and have read alot of great things about mobilhid from this forum but $250 for the Kit.. WOW... I've also found other places where I can get em for $100 less. Is there really a big difference in the quality between Mobilhid and other places? Or em I paying for the support on the product incase something goes wrong...
I wouldnt mind paying the extra money if there is a big quality difference. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for... But I would like to justify the difference in price. If it was $20-30 cool but $100+ I'd like to make sure that its a smart buy...

Whoever says the housing and lens changes the color of the light is mistaken. The kelvin (K) of the light is what changes the color. The higher you go the more your aiming for blue then to purple. The lower you go, the more yellow they are.
I had a set of 6000k bulbs from a guy on ebay and they had a bluish tint to them whereas my buddy has 5000k and his where more white. I only bought mine for $100 and they lasted a good six months before I sold my truck.

That is where I bought a set for my truck. Never had an issue. My friend bought the super slim ballast ones, and they would flicker. I bought the regular $95 ones. They worked flawlessly. Suprisingly bright too.

the projector does make a difference as far as color goes. it might not be as dramatic when compared to changing the temperature of the bulb, but i've seen the same exact kit look completely different inside the headlight of 2 different cars. the color on the ground will be the same, but not in the lens.
