Windshield *cracked* from a dip? I read about xB windshields cracking easily but always from rocks hitting the windshield. I hope your windshield crack is covered under warranty cause a dip means problems with the physical structure of the car.

Mine just got cracked as well... I was really ____ed. 7" crack on the bottom left corner.

It's not covered under warranty when I asked my Toyota dealer, but I heard there are people that can fix it. So I called Ultra BOND windshield repair guys, 800-398-2663, they directed me to a place in Southern California that I can visit to get it fixed for under $100 in an hour... they say they can fix a crack so it just looks like a hairline instead. I'd rather that then drop $500 on a replacement. I'll take a picture of before and after and post it here.

Here are pics of my crack. =( Doesn't seem horrible but damn... it's a new car! I wanted this thing to be pristine for at least a little while.

Nick, yea unfortunately from a rock on the freeway. =P I've hit rocks before in the past 10 years of driving but it never resulted in a crack. I can't believe my xB is only a few months old too.

severedvegan: WOW. I'm vegetarian too (tho not vegan) so I wonder if that has to do with it. LOL

F'ing A I wonder how true it is that xB's crack more often than other vehicles... I mean no cracks for 10 years, then I drive this car and BAM! a few months later I get my first crack. Did you ever fix it? Are you going to? If so, let me know how it worked out, how much it costed ya...

To bad it isn't covered. I have been looking into a 2nd Gen since I just had my 3rd windshield replaced on my 1st Gen. Luckily the 1st was due to a stress fracture that was covered under the factory warranty. The last 2 have been due to rocks. I am getting tire of having to replace the windshield.

I dont think its anything wrong with the car, or windshield, I think it has more to do with a semi truck throwing a rock the size of a golfball at my window going 70 mph. I have like 5 other chips on my window too, including two other cracks, most of them happened from that one semi, it was like it was raining rocks.

I can understand rock and other debris but stress cracks? it sounds like something was not put together correctly one the left side of the car. First the seem creak and now cracks in the same general area....somethings fishy...

I swear a stress crack HAAAAS to be covered under warranty... windows should not just be breaking when you hit potholes.
