iOS would be perfect for in the car but it should be the user using iOS DIRECTLY. All this middleware crap kills the functionality and intuitiveness of the OS. middleware/crapware = bad interfaces like (you guessed it) BeSpoke and the associated immature, half-baked app(s) that you have to use it for.

I've said it on these forums and I'll say it again - the ipad mini is the best candidate for a head unit i've seen in the past 10 years. If they can make a "driver-mode" or something to lock out a lot of the distractions, this would be golden.

I planned on installing the mini in my '13 xb but haven't had the time to work on it.

Well written. ..I only have a 180 gig I pod as well. No need to discuss Chrysler. I once owned a 2.6 liter intrepid. Nuff said.
