Default xB with kids

Hello,
I'm new here and looking for some insight from Scion xB owners with kids. My wife and I are in the market for a new car. We like the utility and reliability of the Scion xB.

Can any of you please provide your feedback/thoughts on the pros and cons of the xB with small kids? It would be greatly appreciated.

It's a four-door with a hatch and a lot of room. What is there to weigh out?

I had a base 09 xB that I traded in for a 4dr G35 in 2011. The main reason I traded the xB in was because it had a manual transmission and my wife would not have been able to drive it while I was in Afghanistan for a year. At the time we had a one year old boy. The G35 did good, and after I got home from my deployment, I couldn't bear the automatic transmission in the G35 and bought a 2012 Ford Focus SE with a 5 spd. Loved the car, got great gas mileage, was pretty quick after I got done with it, then came child #2.

Instantly the Focus' rear seats became too small for a child seat and baby carrier. I'm 6'7'' by the way, so needless too say, any car I buy, the driver's seat has to go all the way back...

Traded the Focus for a fully loaded 2013 xB and couldn't be happier. I can fit a baby carrier and child seat with ease, and now have two child seats since my youngest child has moved up in size. Everyone is always amazed to see my big **** get out of the xB and then I go and unload two kids, groceries, dog, wife, bike on top of roof rack, etc....

Plainly put, the xB is awesome for families, tons of interior space, decent gas mileage, low price to buy/insure, reliability, ease of modifying...

More room inside that a Cube or Soul.

We took two different car seats and a stroller to the dealer and test fit them in an xB they had on the lot. The salesman looked at us like we were crazy. Then he said that was the smartest thing he's ever seen. Try before you buy.

I have a 3 year old and I've had my xb for 2.5 years now. I think for the price it's the best car out there when you have kids. Very spacious. And the trunk make a perfect changing station for their diapers. I hate using public restrooms for changing. I now have a potty in the trunk for my daughter to use when we are out and about. Hope that's not tmi?

I can't accolade you respondence enough in this thread. If family is what matters, then the xB does a great job. If you're solo, the xB can also do a great job (snappy in both appearance and performance). It may not be the best vehicle for the strip or road race, but if we're talking passengers and cargo, it's hard to beat.
