xB replacement no longer to be named xB
it will be similar in design theory and size but it will not be the t2b and it will not be the new bB and it will not be the larger xB mule pic that is posted .
it will probably have a few t2b elements to it.

just the dealer i'll be working for , a regional scion exec , northern cali toyota exec , and dealers everywhere. as well as every toyota tech i work with for my promotional job.
each model/nameplate gets 3 years of life then dead.

i agree with the three year to a model...
but that only means the body style. if we get something that looks like the new bB but a bit bigger (bigger platform) and named xB, that does not violate their methodology.

i heard the 3 year cycles and different names when Scion launched 3 years ago. as cool as it may sound i don't know if its good from a sales standpoint to start all over building a name for a new model. when people think Scion the first thing that pops in their mind is the box. the same can be said if you say VW people think of the bug. popular status or brand image takes awhile to build and they've done that in the last 3 years with the xB. give it a complete redesign that's revolutionary not evolutionary with cool new to the industry features and keep the name.

Its pretty late in the game if there is to be a new model for 2007 and no one yet can tell us what it is. They would have to replace the xB in 2007 if they were sticking to 3 years. Again, we would have to know pretty soon if there was a model change for 2007.

I sure hope they have something in the works that they aren't telling us about. If they go back on their word about the 3 years and out thing. That will be major lame. But another year worth of xB production will be good for future parts needs! I'm starting to tire of even thinking about what the heck they are gonna do.

as far as replacing the xB righ away, thats a no no.
the current xB will sunset (stop production), they will sell of the remaining stock.
then aout 5-6 months later the new one will be released.
so don't think they will have to go right into another model to keep three options on the dealer lots.
