Default xB2 = Corolla?

I really like my xB2 but the fact that Toyota is selling a similar vehicle as a Corolla in the JDM is a real negative and possibly an insult.

First off, we had to pay sticker price, and now we paid sticker price for a Corolla...hmm.

Toyota & SCION: DON'T DO THIS AGAIN ON THE XB3! It makes it feel less unique.

I think Corolla in Japan is a dealer network like Central Atlantic Toyota is to Toyota USA. The Vitz/Yaris LB, new bB and xB1 are/were sold under the Netz brand.

Corolla (even the JDM Camry is sold under the Corolla network)

ToyoPet (some vehicles share with the Corolla dealer network)

uhh... now please tell me why a slight variation of the 2008 xB being the Corolla Rumion is an insult?

because it's a corolla??

are you racist? or whatever the automobile brand equivalent is?

i don't get your logic...

I agree. This post is el stupido. Did you stop to ponder if maybe the Carolla in Japan has a higher prestige/value than our Corolla?
I'm also pretty sure that they developed the Corolla Rumion over there before releasing the xB here.
Regardless, if you like the car, then what difference does it make what it is badged as somewhere else?

pssst.. btw... having any JDM counterpart allows a better aftermarket support..

it's more beneficial than insulting...

does anyone see anything negative about this situation? apparently you're the only one.. and it's over something ridiculous as the Corolla name..

What SquallLHeart and 714xb said times 2.

Upset because it's a version of a Corolla overseas? Look at what comes standard and options available on that "Corolla". Hell if our Corolla was like that I'd buy it.

As for the whole "sticker price". We paid sticker price, but for what you get at that price, it's a bargain. I'd hate to see what "sticker" price would be for the Rumion here. I'm pretty sure it would be a lot more than our xB and the Corolla.

I don't know what's insulting about any of it. If anything, it's that Toyota isn't offering any of the really nice options that you can get on the Rumion, for the new xB. Thankfully most of the stuff is a direct fit onto the xB, finally giving it some true JDM parts and JDM potential.

It's just a name.

the mazda 3 is called a different name in japan. my wife traded her mazda 3 for the xb2. i lived in japan for 4 years, my wife is japanese and we visit there often. when we went in 2005 we got part numbers for all the stuff the stateside mazda 3 owners wanted, but weren't sold for it here, and they were able to order them. we are probably going in august, and i am so glad there is a japanese counterpart to the xb2 because we may be able to get some cool additions to her xb2 over there that she may not have bought or could not buy here. they dont have the lexus brand over there either, you buy what's called a lexus is300 over here it's called a toyota something over there. they usually put way better stuff on the cars over there than here as well. i had a nissan auster over there with stock turbo intercooler. my japanese brother in law had a toyota hatchback that was so freaking fast i couldn't believe it. of course they had the nissan skyline that could kill any states car and they would never sell it here. until next year or something.

That would be the Altezza. I'm pretty sure that's where every company got the generic term "Altezza Style" for their clear tail lights (since the IS300 and Altezza have them). Another good they have the same car only better is their Silvia and our 240sx. The Silvia over there comes with a great power plant stock.

If you're worried about your car being sold elsewhere or branded as something different, you're really limiting your choices for cars. A lot of automakers do it...
