Default xB2 vs Prelude

Long story short.. it was around 11 P.M. 55 freeway near La Palma going north.. xB2 vs Prelude.. and me (trying to) trailing.. let's just say... I discover a newfound respect for the 2nd Gen.. Now it's either the xB2 is fully moded or the it's a bone stock Prelude.. either way.. the there's a prelude owner out there scratching his head.. because he got burned tonight.. I tried to keep up just to see the action.. but with my whopping 110 HP well you know how that went.. oh and I was going about 90-95 and both just straight out left me.. (not so hard to do with us xB1's. ) So i'm guessing they're going about 100 to 110 easy..

the prelude should have the edge at 200HP (assuming it's 5th Gen)
check out the drag times comparison

depends on the driver as well, most likely he doesn't know how to drive and the xB2 must of had a few mods as well.^yeah if they can drive LOL.

Preludes really arent that fast but they should beat our xb2 by only a small margin. Congrats on the win though!

A Prelude should be plenty faster than an xB,

Indeed, so it was definitely a better driver in the box. Or it was supercharged...

How cute, 2 slow cars playing pretend race car.

These guys should just get out their Hot Wheels and see how fast they can push them along the living room carpet.

Hot Wheel races are always classic moments.

Memories!!!

I agree, Keep it on the track for racing!

I drive spirited sometimes, but when on the roads with a lot of other people, I drive 70 and at the very most 80. On backroads or on the track I drive but thats only when I am alone.

providing it was a h22 prelude, it would have been in its element on the freeway and would have monkey stomped a 2gen xb...

I actually traded my 5th gen Prelude in for a xB2. My xB2 currently has IHE and my former Prelude, bone stock, would have easily smacked it around. My guess is the Prelude driver couldn't drive and under estimated the xB2 and got caught in the wrong gear. With vtec when you are outside the power band the car will really be slow. But if you drive it right and down shift correctly so your rpms are above the threshold then the car is much faster.

Yea that's what I was thinking at first.. but it really was one of those "wtf" moments. I tried keeping up to see if the Prelude gained some distance but from my point of view the xB was ahead the entire time.. Only if i could keep up...

Indeed, so it was definitely a better driver in the box. Or it was supercharged...
That was my first thought too, I was thinking maybe the 2nd gen was heavily mod. But anyway, it was indeed a great win for the 2nd Gen.. What's the WHP on a supercharged 2nd gen anyways??

I posted the experience here as soon as i got home, I was hoping the 2nd Gen guy is a Scionlife member, maybe he could share some thoughts..

I doubt it was supercharged since it just came out... Could be Turbo'd though...

I had my windows semi rolled down and I didn't hear a blow off.. So I'm guessing it's not.. It is really a great mystery to me.. Either way, the way I saw that xB2 take off like that, man makes me want it even more. Maybe when I'm done with the payments on my 1st Gen I'll get a 2nd Gen.

BTW the guy in the xB2 was pretty cool, he gave me the deuce before the douche in the Prelude went side to side with us and started flashing his hazards, he probably thought.. "Wow look at these two" Little does he know the 2nd Gen was packing a can of whoop ___ that he was ready to serve..
