Just installed on my 12 (thanks for the thread Cionide) but my rear toe is too positive. I know about adding shims but I'm wondering what you guys did about it? Spec shows rear toe at -0.02 to 0.10. mine are now at 0.18/0.17 so basically .08 out of spec.

Just installed Tanabe NF210 springs and KYB Front shocks. Drove the car for an hour on the freeway to see if it would settle:

Stock Height ****** Tanabe Springs
Front L 662mm **** 654mm
Front R 662 mm **** 655mm
Rear L 702mm **** 664mm
Rear R 703mm **** 666mm

Front Drop is .32 inch
Rear Drop is 1.42 inch

107000 miles on the car, I think the oem springs were starting to sag, hence the minimal drop. Car rides a lot smoother, no longer has that stiff bouncy ride.

Question 235/35 19 + nf210: do it? or don't do it?

Super-infomative thread, thanks @CIONIDE for starting (and all the contributors)! Learned a lot reading through the whole thing. And, ate two bars of chocolate. So thanks too, for the diabetes.

Question: How do you guys know if your going to rub with your setups or not? Experience via trial and error? Or is there a "list" I don't know about? Please tell me it's called the NOC list...

I have 235/35 19s with 1.75" gap front (top of wheel, to top of wheel arch), and 3.5" back currently. The nf210s sound perfect for a more aggressive stance without sacrificing ride quality, but wanted to check with you guys. Oh, and receipt says +35 offset.

Will I rub in turns and hate my life when carrying drums? Or, will I love driving so much more that I finally get a sunroof installed?!

Thanks in advanced from a first-time dropper.

My 2012 box has been on TRDs since day 1. Currently it has 20,000km (about 12,500 miles) on it. I have been reading so much about NF210s and how the ride quality is just like OEM or even better. I have no complaints with TRDs when it comes to handling but I have started to feel that it's bit bumpier (stiffer) for my taste specially the rears and I have been thinking very hard about switching to NF210s lately.

Before I do that, I would like to know if it's ok to switch to different springs given that I have driven 12,500miles on TRDs? Anything to worry about my stock struts/shocks etc or would it be business as usual? Also a question for those who switched from TRDs to NF210s, is there a noticeable difference in ride quality? I just dont want to go spend about $500 and then find out that the ride quality is 'about the same'.

TANABE NF210 LOWERING SPRINGS 08 09 SCION XB | eBay
Cionide and others, thank you for the great information here!

Does anyone know of springs similar to the NF210s that do NOT lower the xB?
I am older, I like the current height, and dislike the choppy/bouncy ride on my new 2015 xB. So I am looking for comfort. Thanks!

Which springs would put less stress on TRD shocks/struts for a Scion Xd? I wanted to go with Tein S Teck ( skc10-aub00) but after hearing so many good things about the NFs I'm not sure now. My priority is to not put needless stress on the TRD s/s by having a spring travel up and down too much like the NF 210 which can also sag...and to not put stiffer springs like the Teins which don't let the TRD s/s move much?? In my mind the Teins would work better with TRD and protect them more because it compresses less thus the TRD s/s have too work less...? Ugh...I don't know, this is quite the pickle.

Overthinking it way too much...find the travel range for the TRD struts/shocks and pick a spring that is going to keep them in that range of travel. A stiffer spring that falls within the shock or strut's 'travel window' is going to be far easier on it than a spring that allows it to fall outside of its travel range. A spring that lets the shock or strut 'bottom out' is going to kill it faster than a stiffer spring ever would.

Do the TRDs have any drop or are they stock length? If so, you could look at what stock struts and shocks are rated for and go based on that...if they're a 1" drop then you can figure based on that, etc.

As far as springs, look to see if they have any drop also, a 2" drop spring would move the shock/strut travel 2" and may put you outside that window.

I know a bunch of Lightning guys were running 3-4" drops in the rear and hammering the stock rear shocks, so they ended-up either going with shocks with different strokes or going the less expensive route and running bolt-on shock extenders.

The TRD springs offer a .5 front and 1.5 back drop and are about 10% stiffer than stock. The TRD s/s dont offer any specs anywhere only description about them is that they improve performance. The closes aftermarket springs I found are vogtlands (95902 1.4 drop f/b no stiffness info. The Tein S tech (skc10-aub00) 1.5 drop f/b and about the same stiffness as TRD springs. As far as length they dont say it for any of the products and without knowing that then I guess it's pointless. I'm about to just for coilovers honestly. Bye bye TRD build.
