I ordered the hotchkis for my box, but its been a while and there still not in yet , where are they ?

 

compared to DF210.. which one gives a better ride?

 

The odd thing is , the hotchkis drop is actually considered a moderate drop for the xb at about 1.3 in front and 1.6 in the rear. The df210 is like 2" , I dunno I would assume ride quality drops the lower you go even though many people swear that they do not see a difference , whats everyone else think ?

 

There are many factors that affect ride quality; spring rate, degree go progressiveness in the winding, and dampening, are all more influential than the amount of drop. The stock shocks are valved to control the stock springs. Increasing the spring rate will over load the shock's ability to control it. Increased spring rate also deflects less for a given input. Progressive winding can create a range of spring rates as it move thru it's deflection. Drop only alters the maximum amount of deflection before bottoming out.

I had Hotchkis springs and sways on my Cooper. The handling was significantly improved without a harsh ride. I had a set of Koni Sports (adjustable) and SSR Comps on it as well. The light wheel was very noticeable in improving the ride as there was less mass for the spring/shock to control.

Bottom line, I will go with Hotchkis based solely on my previous experience.

I have 19" JDM Forged SSR Comps. I'm gonna keep my sizing and offset a secret for now.

I have Hotchkis lowering springs. I do rub the fender since i'm mega flush up front.

 

i have a set ray special ed. black w/red lip, 18x7.5, 45 offset tires toyo z4 215x45x18 on right now and thinking of trading for a volks te37 time attack 19x8 48 offset tires toyo z4 235x35x19 with a friend. so thats why i ask

 

I've had the Hotchkis springs on TRD struts for about 2 weeks now.

I'm running a semi aggressive offset in the rear, but the the driver side rear compresses completely on certain bumps in the road...but on dips it's a perfect ride/drop because it doesn't hit at all.

Took a look at it again today to see where the issue is, and it's just the drop on TRD struts.

I'll have to link my pictures when I get home.

 

ill get some pics of my BSP on the hotchkis TVS as far as the drop i think it sets it perfect anymore and would be too much of a hassle with diffrent wheel sizes

 

man i love living in cali just called hotchkis and going to purchase my kit and go pick them up its like 15 mins from my house.

and tanabe is in torrnace thats like 30 mins from my house so when the strut bar and cross bar is available ima order and pick thos up to.

so i dont have to pay 4 shipping and what not.

 

i got df210 on 19's 225/35/19 if you want i will post a pix with a tape measure from flat land to compare hights if you would like

 

Last time I measured, with stock wheels, I was right at 24.5" all the way around. That's measuring from flat ground to the middle of the wheel arches.

I'm pretty sure my rear is a bit lower than normal due to weight.
