Default 2" hitch for gen2 xb?

I am wondering if there is any 2" trailer hitches still around for the gen 2 xb. I just got a fat tire bike and those are quite a bit heavier than a standard bike and am looking at racks for it. The bike shop said I shouldn't do a 1.25" receiver if I can, as they ahve seen some bend due to weight plus bouncing from the car as it drives. They also advised I don't do the roof mounts or ones taht sort of strap on and sit on the trunk, as those aren't rated for the weight of the bike either.

Not looking to do any actual towing, just for the bike mount.

2015 xb if it helps too.

Thank you for the help on this!

I have a 1.25 Drawtite hitch on a tC. The tongue rating is 200 pounds. I think the Curt brand is 300 pounds. How much does the bike weigh?

There's reason no one makes 2" receiver hitch. I wouldn't do a hitch rack for anything over 150-lbs max. Due to leverage, it'll put 2x load on rear-suspension. I've been towing bikes to racetracks for 30-yrs. Have seen way, way too many problems with hitch racks.

Best to get tiny HF utility trailer.

Puts lots less load on rear suspension, especially if your car is lowered. Tongue weight typically around 50-75 lbs.

Just make sure to get the 6 bolt hitch not the four bolt if you go that route, depends on how heavy your bike is. If it's an E bike you're probably pushing it otherwise it's probably ok.

I tow a 14' fishing skiff with mine and it does great, but the tongue weight at the hitch is not even 50 pounds i don't think. Putting too much weight right on the tongue is not a good idea, you're better off getting a small trailer instead.

Thank you for the help on this!

I used a Reese universal kit. It touches the exhaust on the passenger side but I was able to put four bolts in and then I had to use a drill and center the actual hitch after I mounted everything on the car and just use a mallet to make sure that it was centered drilled two new holes and put my own half inch bolts through them. I'm sure that you could also flip the centerpiece of the hitch over and put a hole in the bumper if you wanted to but mine sets just below the bumper and I have a 2-in receiver now.

They are like $170 at AutoZone. Here's the link

Hope this helps!
