Default Coilover owners...post up here.

For all of you coilover owners, how do you guys feel your car handles compared to stock or compared to your "old" spring/shock combo?

Just trying to find some feedback on coilovers, specifically the Ksports. The Ksports have very low rear spring rates and I'm trying to find out if you guys think it doesn't matter or if it feels like the car is unresponsive, etc.

idk about damaged. i can see the car getting damaged becasue its so much lower.

any drop over stock does alot for the handling lowering the center of gravity and the spring rate/rebound.

im sure with a nice tune on the ksports it handels quite niceley

Ive heard this also, From a tc though? I also think with a proper adjustment and not lowering all the way and stiffening the dampers too much would prevent some damage...just my 2 cents

I'm pretty sure stiffening the dampers makes them last longer, not shorter.

I've have done quite a bit of research on K-sport coilovers for several different cars and they are a hit or miss. Some have reported good results, while others say they aren't very good quality and have issues with them (such as knocking or blowing out early).

I am running K sports on mine 2nd Gen right now. I have had them for over a year now with no issues at all. They handle great and ride really well to.
I had them on my tC as well and no issues there either. My tC was hammered. So not sure what the issue could have been.

Are there any official re-sellers, like PTuning, etc.? Ebay seems a bit unreliable to me.

Also, does anyone have concrete information on the D2s? (Spring Rates, etc.)

I have had my ksport for a month so it's not broken in yet. I have dampers set to softest and rides smooth almost stock. We'll see how they do when I get some 18" rims.
I got mines for $670 so no complaints there.

BTW I think D2 and Ksport are from the same manufacturer . I couldn't find the specs on the D2 coilovers.

From my experience.. D2 dampening ***** are better since they tell you how soft/hard your setting is at.. unlike ksport where you have to guess where your at by the logo position. I'm not sure if D2 has the **** height problem like the ksport.
Also Ksport USA support is way better then D2

Where did you get them that cheap? The lowest I've seen them is for $850.00 shipped from a vendor on scionlife.

My ksports have treated me well. A little stiff for civilians, but great fun on the track. Handles like a slot car. Turn the wheel and it stays in that position until you turn it back.
The rear end can be a little bouncy but that realy seems to be a reflection of the road. I feal every crack and pebble but that could be the tires.

If I was going to race more often than cuscos or tein would be my choice. For a mostly DOT legal vehicle, Ksports do just fine. Oh and now Ksport offers a higher performance xb2 coil over than the one most of us are running.
