Default Coilover suggestions?

Now that my new xB is 24 hours old, I really want to get it dropped on 19'' wheels. My goal is to find a set of coilovers that allow for a 2-2.5'' drop, ride well and don't make noise. I haven't messed with coilovers for a long time so I am out of touch. My first instinct would be KSport. Any suggestions, comments or ideas? I would love to hear as much as possible. I'll also be researching this site with its wealth of info.

Ksports are the most popular around here. If you're planning on riding really low guys like severedvegan have had issues with the springs being too soft.

Thanks! I hear nothing but good things about KSport, so that's probably the route I will go. I'm not looking to go super low, but I want the control and adjustability that coilovers will give me.

I've heard great things about them, but if they are that hard to get I don't want to have to worry about something going wrong and not being able to find parts or replacements. I've narrowed it down to the D2, ScionPro or KSports.

I would say d2 or ksport. The newer scion pro coilovers don't seem to go low at all. No one can figure out why.

I have a used set i need to go list in the classifieds. But as far as getting replacement parts for it, just go to any shop the sells Cusco parts and they should be able to get you what you need.

Strange, well it looks like I'll have to stick with D2 or KSport then. Thanks for that info, even after hours of searching, I never read that.

I think I'm going to stick with D2 or Ksport after reading the post concerning the Cuscos not going as low in case I ever need that range. I bet they will sell in a heartbeat though, everyone seems to be wanting a set. Why are you selling yours?

The newer ScionPro coils don't get as low as the old ones. Cusco coils were never intended for max low but they do drop the car hard. I'm selling mine because I got rid of my xb and bought a different car.

KSport is the way to go. I've seen both old and newer sets of the D2BD and the newer ones didn't go as low, as flyingemu05 stated.
I asked a representative of ScionPro regarding the differnece, and he swore up and down that they were the same thing.

They aren't.

Well, you just saved me an entire evening of reading reviews, fighting sleep and wondering if I am going to make the right choice LOL. Thank you sir!

I'll be ordering the KSports in the very near future.

I've been running my KSports for the past couple of years. When I had less aggressive wheels, TRD 19s, they rode very well. Then I lowered it more and got much more aggressive wheels and I stiffened up the dampening a bit. Now the car rides pretty rough, but that's my own fault.

I had KSports on my 09 and I didn't have them cranked all the way down when I was rolling on my Sawblades. They rode well, I just didn't like the whole, no brake line mount thing, and having to use zip ties and other methods to secure the brake lines. Other than that, they were awesome, lildann on here has them currently and he's a lot lower than I ever was with them...

I just snagged a set of lightly used Megan Racing coilovers from the other xB forum, awaiting their arrival. I like the fact that the Megan's have all the appropriate mounts in the shock bodies. I'll update what I really think of them once I have them mounted on my car...

I totally agree. I think it's cheap that KSport doesn't have ACTUAL mounts with their coilovers.

I'm looking forward to hearing how you like the Megans!

I look forward to hearing how you like them. I doubt I'll be able to wait until you swap out, but with my audio system my first priority, I may end up waiting.
