Default Control Arm Torque Spec?

Hey
The title says it all. Just need to confirm spec for both bolts. I’m wrenching on a 2014 xB
2.4 automatic.

And what does Toyota call the Arm?

They have some other name that for me is misleading.

Thanks

Are you talking about the front or rear?

If you're talking about the knuckle that attaches to the strut assembly, the two bolts are 177 ft*lbs according to the TRD spring installation guide. If you're talking about the lower control arm then I will look and see if I can find the torque specs.

Hey
I’m talking about the lower control arm. There is only one control arm on each side which attaches to the
k member at two locations. There is a bolt fitted horizontally (toward the front) and another fitted vertically (toward rear). I need the spec for both of those bolts. Again, I think Toyota doesn’t refer to this part as a control arm. Anyway I appreciate your help.

Ok, so after a lot of searching I was able to find some service manuals and I believe the torque specs are 172 ft*lbs

(Word.doc converted to a picture so it looks a little weird)

I hope these are correct and are helpful

Thanks
I really appreciate the effort.
172 (Front) seems like a lot. I’ll check it tomorrow

Here is the website where I found the online service manual. The manual seems to be real but you can check it out for yourself.

This is from the 2006 xB service manual. The year may be older than your model.

I also thought that the torque specs seem a little high, but I do know that the lower control arms on the 2nd generation xB's (2008-2015) seem beefier than the 1st generation (2004-2007), but I don't know if that has anything to do with the higher torque specs.

Hey Jake,
I checked those bolts this morning and found both at around 100 ft lbs.
I torqued the front bolt to 160 and the rear I left at 100. I’ll see how it goes.
Again thanks for the help

I don't know why I thought my 2006 xB manual was second generation. Thanks for pointing out the significant differences.

Note to Jcris, please let me know if you want me to delete the gen 1 info.
