Ksport Gt Pro vs. Kontrol Pro

It's to late now because my Ksports are in the mail already, but I was wondering what's the different between the two(GT Pro and Kontrol Pro). BTW, I ordered Kontrol Pro and hope I didn't pick the lesser of the two for my purpose.

I've been running the Kontrol Pros for about a year now. No complaints.

Did any one compress the coil or did you just leave it alone and if do how much ? Thanks for the help.

Mines came in the mail yesterday. I was too, wondering if people left their coils/springs alone or not.

xseveredveganx 03-15-2012 09:44 PM

I left mine alone.

Difference between those two is the normal vs inverted damper design.....

For some reason I think they come pre-loaded... Left mine alone and had zero problems in two years

Thanks for the support. Does it still drop low or no ? I was planning on running 18" wheels .

Do bears sh*t in the woods? Yes they drop low. They're not Racelands.

The GT pro's are much more performance oriented. The inverted strut design provides MUCH less flex under stress, but the kontrol pros are amazing as well. I run the kontrol pros, and love them.

LimoBox 03-28-2012 10:39 PM

So after having them on for about 2 weeks the conclusion is I too, love them. I don't know how the GT Pro are hands on, but with the Kontrol Pros so far I don't plan to switch to anything else. It goes pretty high as well as low. As for the ride, not to bad compared to OEM. I have my dampers set at 18 clicks for both front and rear. The Kontrol Pros does what I want it to and more.

with people running the ksports, what did you do with abs hoses, zip tie to strut? I see most other companies have places to bolt all like factory

Ksports come with some straps that looked cheesy to me so they were never an option .. zip ties FTW

thanks, im narrowing my options now

Hey was wondering if someone can explain how to adjust rear shocks properly ? Thanks for the help.

xseveredveganx 05-15-2012 04:00 AM

Define "properly"... I have mine extended out quite a ways, so the shock will bottom out prior to the rim hitting my fender arch. However, I would recommend setting them further in. When the car is on the ground and the suspension is compressed from the load of the car, I'd think 3" of travel would be plenty. I think the rear springs are roughly 7.5" in length, then probably compress roughly 2" just by the car.
3"-4" of suspension travel should be fine. If the tires rub the insides of the fender, extend the shocks out more or add in an additional bumpstop. OEM bump shop should suffice.

Can someone post pics of there rear shocks
