What is the advantage of the Tanebe bar being adjustible? I am not sure how it affects function, but the TRD non-adjustable bar ends look cleaner, too. However, for $98 v. $189 the Tanabe is looking good too.

i believe that a nonadjustable bar can not be fine tuned for stiffness.

Per Tanabe's site

Adjustable Preload

A very common error when installing tower bars, It is always recommended to raise the vehicle when installing so that the load of the shock uppermounts on the shock towers is relieved and balanced out. When raised, and the tower bar is placed onto the vehicle, the preload can be adjusted and set. After it is bolted on and the car is lowered, each shock tower will have equal load and will prevent independent movements of each shock. This will provide an extremely noticeable difference after installing. If a tower bar is installed on a car that is not raised, great benefits will be missed.

Sorry for the late posting. I finally got the time to install the bar. I would say the quality of Tanabe is better than TRD's and it is not as stand out as the TRD's. Many guys here are debating if you want a TRD's or Tanabe's. In my opinion that I was a little bit, just a little bit, "surprise" that the bar isn't as stand out as I thought it would be compared to the TRD's since the bar is positioned very close to the wiper tray on top of it, and the bar itself is a little bit thin in proportion. HOWEVER, I am very very very pleased that it does make a noticable difference in terms of handling. I am so surprised such little bar will make that big of an improvement on steering feedback and cornering response on the steering. It feels like the steering has been tighten up and the vehicle is more "centered".
So my take is, if you are looking for performance, get the Tanabe, if you want the looks, get TRD. Please click below for pics. Thanks.

Yes, I do, but my Tanabe's NF is on the way, will be installed within this two weeks IF I have time.
This bar is worth it man! Make a big good impact on handling! I heard people said that the bar makes a difference and I didn't believe them. Now I am a believer!

dyub

I recently purchased the tanabe strut tower bar myself but was sad to see no detailed instructions.

Did you raise the front end and if so where did you place your floor jack.

Also how difficult was it to remove the cowl under the windshield and is there anything we should lookout for, etc.

Thanks

Yes, I did raise it up. There is a single jacking point in the front where you can raise up the front end in one shot.
PM me, I will send you a .pdf copy of the manual for the TRD tower bar. It includes all the details that shows you how to remove those parts. The rest should be pretty much self explanatory.

First of all, I want to apologize to everybody who has been waiting for this bar. I know there are at least a few angry people from the negative feedback and from reading this thread. I operate a small business with only a single staff member, so it is sometimes difficult to promptly resolve every situation, especially when it is out of my control (Tanabe had not made the bars yet). Anyways, I'm in the process of hiring more help, and will try to be more speedy with any questions or concerns that my customers might have.

Someone on eBay had mentioned that there was a post here regarding the strut bars... I did not expect 800+ views though!

Thank you everyone for your patience.

So is it safe to order one now!!!!!

I would get it from ptuning... enter coupon code "ptscionlife" to get additional 5% off. I ordered the springs from them and they ship fast. They are also cheaper than performance division... forget about them on Ebay.
