Default What should I do first?

I plan on doing some suspension work my box as soon as the snow is gone. I plan on installing a Tanabe NF210 drop with a Hotchkis Sport Sway Kit and a TRD Strut Brace.

My question is... I only have the funds to do the Drop and one of the other items at this time. With the suspension work being done on the drop, which one would make more sense (ease of installation) to install at the same time as the drop? I would be installing the other shortly afterwords.

You wouldn't get much at all from the strut brace. It would be cake to install, but do next to nothing for performance.

Rear sway bar. Hands down.

I may be selling my NF210s if you're interested... Let me know. They're slightly used, about 8 months old, nothing wrong with them but still on my car. I like them a lot, but am thinking about going a lower when I put my new wheels on.

As for your thread, I'd say go for the NF210s and Hotchkis sway bars. Or, if you like to go the OEM route like me, I'd say get the NF210s, TRD rear sway bar now, and then the matching TRD strut bar later.

Is there a performance difference between going with the Hotchkis sway package and the TRD Rear Sway? The TRD rear is about the same price as the whole Hotchkis kit is.

Drop and Sways!

However, since you have the money for df210s and sway bars, why dont you just save a little more and get coilovers?

I have df210s and i need to go lower...

I think Hotchkis one is lighter and thicker and stronger and cheaper. I have that with TRD suspension set, and T-Htech spring, can't complaint anymore.

I really can't go that low. This is my daily ride and I need to still haul my tools around for work. So I'm installing the NF210's, not the DF's.

Looks like the consensus is to install the sways at the same time as the drop.

Sways it is!

That's right, I always tell my friends, you can either do nothing or do them all.

Thanks for everyone's input. Springs and Sways have been ordered!

Now I just need the weather to break so I can install them.

Default Suspension

Hello Friends, this is my first post so be merciful. I have a 2009 XB and have enjoyed it for the last 7 months. So much so, I just purchased a 010 XB so now I have 2. After a seven month test drive in the '09 I would like to smooth the ride a little. I have seen some posts about Koni shocks but they were from 2004, 2005. All recommendations will be appreciated and let me also qualify that I'm not a teenager and just want a smoother ride around town and on the highway. Thanks.........G

You have PM, and I'm not in the Scion target demographic either.

Well I took the plunge and bought the Tanabe NF210 Springs, the Hotchkis Sport Sway Kit and the TRD Strut Brace. As long as I have the car apart, I might as well install everything! LOL

I'm just waiting for the weather to get a little warmer to install.

I also have to install my Curt Tow Hitch so I can transport my bikes. I didn't want to put a rack on the roof.

I'm looking forward to it. What size wheels and tires are you running?

Weather finally got good enough to do the install. I went with the Tanabe NF210's, Hotchkis Sway Bar's set, and a TRD Strut Bar.

How big are your wheels? there still seems to be a pretty big gap between the tire and wheel well...
