Rotors are FC30 CAST iron. The are very strong yet still light.

No, that sounds about right for the quoted level of equipment. Nice brakes are very expensive.

They are nice but who in their right mind would spend 4-5k for some brakes on an XB? That's almost a third of what I paid for the vehicle .

Soo pretty! You will still get a great upgrade by just doing the pads, lines, and rotors.

Not yet. I am not sure if they have plans for production either. I wish there were more people that we making these. I dont think there are enough customers that will drop that kind of cheddar

I agree with you! Maybe serious racers or just upgrade junkies. You will be only one on the block with these thats for sure.

 

You loose your ebrake when you do the rear also. I have been debating on doing these on mine.

 

WTF i should have figured though. the ebrake is the drum assembly. dangit.

 

Well, with most rear disc setups, there's a minature drum inside the rotor. The little drum assembly acts as the emergency brake exclusively. I'm not sure if it's like this with all rear discs, but I know it was with the 1996 Impala rear end I got for my fullsize truck.

Most rear disc conversions for old VW beetles are the same way...
