Question xB towing??

Hi all!
I'm moving across country and obviously trying to cut as many costs as possible when it comes to moving trucks and trailers.
Looks likes renting a trailer is half the cost. I've got a 2008 xB. Anyone know if this is a realist idea or am I better off towing it behind a U-Haul instead?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks!!

You can definitely haul a trailer, the U-Haul website (go through the reservation process) will tell you how big of a trailer your xB can tow. They install the hitch as well for about $300. I believe you can haul up to 1,900lbs in a 6x12 trailer.

Funny, last August I moved across country and I was going to tow a 5x8 trailer with my 1st Gen xB. I even got the hitch installed but in the end I simply bought a roofbag instead and jammed everything I could into and onto my xB and sold the rest.
Vegas to Cape Canaveral 2700 miles in 3 days. I do miss that furniture I sold but I'm single and didn't have that much (recliner, table, queen sized bed).

So yes, you can definitely tow a lot of lbs. with your xB. My advice is to take it real slow at 55MPH and rent all your hotels in advance. Don't worry about the cost over safety and security. Make sure your stuff in that trailer is insured to the hilt as well.

It might take you 5 or 6 days but steady definitely wins the race in your situation. Good luck!

I'd suggest towing it behind a U-Haul truck.

U-Haul won't hook a 6 x 12 to an xB. When I moved I used a U-Box and let them truck it for me.
