Default 20" rims for 2012 xB?

okay, i need opinions! im looking at the TSW Brooklands for my xB. i have 2 weeks until they come in stock.. and i cant decide.. 20" rims or 18" ?! lame question, cause duh 20" would look better, but does anyone on here have a 2012 with 20's that can tell me how the ride is? i know its crappy, but HOW crappy? send me some info / advice!

If you go with 20s your tire ratio will be around 30 to 25 (correct me if Im wrong) which is not very forgiving. I think most xb drivers for the most part are running 18s and below. You can get a good tire ratio 40 plus and be comfortable. Remember the bigger the rim the less rubber you can have. Personally I have 18x9.75 ET 20mm but I run a 40 ratio all around. Its like stock comfort and cant be happier.

Im running 19's on 35's and my ride ain't bad, not stock but still comfortable. I'm sure the coilovers help though.

Check the weight on 20's . TSW can be heavy . Your braking with 20's will suck . I got 19's was ready to pull the trigger on 20's . Glad I didn't.

Ok, no one start throwing things at me........

But what about 20's with a little lift and air ride thrown in?

Wouldn't that solve the tire ratio issue, and the rough ride issue?

I know that most XB's are rolling low and slow..........
But with 20's on and a little lifted (at least in my head ) they look hella monster!!!!!

ok so i did 20's for a few months and i loved it, this crap about lossing braking and horsepower and gas mileage is that... crap i lost 2 mpg, i could tell a little bit of heaviness in the wheels during acceleration and braking but not enough to make me go oh my GOD this crazy i wont be able to drive this.....
The reason I got rid of mine was, I felt like I blended in with every other car on the road, i didnt stand out the way i wanted to. I ran a 20x7.5 with 225/35/20 and did fine even being lowered on DF210s.

awww yeah. i love my 20s. allthough my wheels are all curbed up and my tires are down the wear bar. i love the look of 20" rims. im still debating on weather to go down to 19" or stay at 20" i think if i go 19" wheels i can go back down to 2" of lowering. i was rubbin bad with 20's

all i know is im getting these wheels in a couple months:

i also cant decide on if i want some poke or not. if i want some poke ill get 19x9 +25 front 19x10 +30 rear.

if not then ill just have les schwaub figure out the best size and offset for some decent tuck.

grrrr i hate making decision like this. its alot of money to get a brand new set of wheels and tires and i wanna make sure its EXACTLY what i want.

How much suspension & fender work are you willing to do?

20x10 +38 will poke out past the front fenders 3/4".

So for the front I would have to widen it at the shop... Would it look funny if I ran a 20/8.5 offset 30 front and a 20/10 offset 38 rear and how would that fit if you have pics would be nice thanks

Those would fit a lot better. Front poke about 3/8", rear poke about 1/4".

Unless I've missed it somewhere, you haven't said what suspension you plan on running... springs/brand/model, coilovers, air ride? You're also going to have to be OK with stretched tires & rolling fenders.

Yes, as long as you don't try to stuff those 10" wide wheels up front.
