Those tires are tiny, almost 1.5" smaller diameter than the stock 205/55-16's... you'll have a huge gap between the tires and fenders too.

The typical 17" size would be 225/45...which is almost exactly the same diameter as the stock 205/55R16s. I wouldn't try to put the 205/40s on your car. Not only will they look stupid, but it's just not enough tire (aka, load rating) under the car.

I rolled that set up this past summer...

1. If your car is not dropped...dont do it. For a few weeks I had no drop and it looked terrible.

2. Got dropped on dfs and it still didn't look that good. Plus being on this site has really opened up my eyes to how things "should" look. You will come to hate the gap just like I did and now I'm in the market for new tires. It looks great when you can fill out the wheel well...

3. Not to mention the noise from the wheels was ridiculous. I didn't really pay attention to it until I put my stockies back on for the winter and realized the difference. But our car is kind of loud anyway.

4. BUT I got the tires practically for free and it got me around so.....it's really up to you.

Sorry for the rambling but this has been one of the bigger issues with my car lol

I'm running 205/40 up front......yes they are tiny and I'm running on air so I can fill the gap with no problems but if your running on stocks or df's its still gonna have a huge gap ........

I think 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 will be better ..
