Default 245/40/19 on all around on RS 5.0....

Here are the pics of my new setup finally, after many delays. Discount Tire scratched a second rim at which time they paid for both to be repaired and the guy did a great job, so that's over with, now I just have to watch those damn curbs.

There is some rubbing up front on the fender lip when I hit a deep depression and it makes the front dive down but it has to be a sharp dip and I'm going over 40. I'll probably have to see if some fender mod guys can help me out. Also very slight rubbing on the left inner fender well when turning but that is easily fixed as wheel well is very flexible. If anyone is wanting 245s up front I say go for it (depending on offset of course), my issues are because I went with a 40 sidewall. I believe "KittenJames" on here even has 255s up front?

Full specs
245/40/19 Nankang NSII
19x8 +35 hyperblack Tork Imagine
Epoxy Painted calipers w/ stickers that I hope last more then 2 weeks

Future: I'm thinking small rear spacers and drop the rear only to match the front gap, that would look perfect. In my opinion.

PS: Thanks for all the help CIONIDE!

Nice job going outside the box. Looks good, and I'm surprised you have such little rubbing issues up front.

I'd be interested in hearing how your MPG does, because I went with light weight wheels (18#F/22#R) and tires that are 225/45-17F and 245/40-18R and I have a significant loss in mileage, especially in stop & go or city driving.

ummm that looks like wayyyy too much tire on there IMO. if i were you i'd go with a 215/35/19, and you'd pretty much get rid of the rubbing issues. you will have minimal stretch on the tires and with the right drop, you'd be money.

@evosky: I'll have to respectively disagree, 215 on an 8 inch rim is WAY too small IMO. I may get 225/40/19s for the front depending on what group5 motorsports tells me about fender modding. Then just keep the 245/40s for the rear replacements. That will also give me an extra .4 smaller rim in front for that tapered look I like. I guess there's different definitions on what "stretch" is but if the tire is not perpendicular flush with the rim then I feel it is stretch so 215s would be too small for me.

@Cionide: I plan on getting detailed mpg after a few drives to work and back then will post here, although I am used to 29.5 avg (car computer stats) 30% city 70% highway so it's obvious I drive slow and strong. I noticed the car carries speed noticeably more then with stockers so I will just adjust my driving to allow for more coasting to lights and stop signs.

fair enough. everyone's got their own comfort level for this kind of stuff anyway.
just to let you know where i'm coming from (i'm a first gen):
- the TRD for 1st gens was an 18x7.5, and they ran 215/35 pirelli pzero neros, which had a very very mild stretch.
- i am currently running 18x8 with 215/35 nitto neogens in the front and 18x9 with 225/40 in the rear. i have absolutely no problems in the front, and the rears i had to roll the fenders a bit to deal with rubbing (still rubs a bit on loaded bumps), but when i need to replace the rears, i'm going to probably go with a 215/35 as well. the fronts have absolutely no stretch, they sit flush with the wheel, while the rears have minimal stretch.

just my 0.02
cheers
