Default axis widetracks on xb2

Hi all,

I am in the market for some wide deep dish rims.

I really like some that are offered by AXIS, but my question is, what do i need to do to my ride in order to fit these bad boys on there?

the specs are 18x8 40 offset
5-114.3 bolt

Do i need to get new springs, change the fenders or anything? the rims are already expensive as hell as is.

thanks for any help you got.

Buy the wheels and some 225/40-18 tires and throw them on, you won't have any fitment problems at all.

Keep in mind that you'll need either the 60mm standard lip at all 4 corners; or for the staggered wheel/lip look, 60mm standard lip up front and 90mm Maxis lip in the rear (of course with the 60/90 combo you won't be able to rotate the fronts & rears).

so i can get them and i don't need to do anything at all?

would you recommend lowering them? I'm just worried about rubbing and ground clearance.

so get them and that's it huh? no cutting no rolling

that sounds great

Yes, just put the new wheels on. Those will be fine.

And Yes, CIONIDE recommends you lower your vehicle on Tanabe NF210 springs.

and what does the offset mean? how much it sticks out? sorry..noob questions

so a 40 offset means it sits flush and a 10 offset means it stick out past the fenders?

Read this thread; it's long, but it's mostly pictures:

How much a wheel sits in or out from the fenders is a function of both offset and wheel width. I think the tire and wheel calculator that many use will help you understand how the changes from stock may or may not work, and what the resultant changes will be:

http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

Keep in mind that the stock wheels are 16"x6.5" with +45 offset, and the tires are 205/55x16".
Have fun playing with the calculator/comparer!

Ok.

So i def think i want to roll with these rims. probably staggered (does that mean that the front lip is not as deep as the rear lip?

i am also going to get the Tanabe NF210 springs!

I'm just worried about rubbing, do you think i will have a problem with that?

and just to be clear...it will fit without any modding needed right?

The staggered set-up is the 18x8 +40 with 60mm lip for the fronts and 18x8 +40 with the Maxis 90mm lip for the rears. According to the Axis website this combo will have 2.4" lips on the front and 3.67" lips on the rear. Tires should be 225/40-18 all the way around and you will not rub with NF springs. You won't need to modify anything, but you will need a set of hub centric rings just like you would for almost any aftermarket wheels.

Many wheel suppliers include the hub rings, or sell them for a small fee. Just make sure you ask, so that you can get them elsewhere if the place you get your wheels from doesn't have them available.

You have PM on the NF210's.

the 18x8 90mm lip will work on the fronts.. go with the 18x9s 120 mm lip in the rear with the maxis lips.. thats what i would do..

dont go 8s all around.. becuasae those 8s are going to stick to far in on the rear.

it will work becuase you can go down to +35 on a 8 inch and 9 inch wheel.. just make sure you run a 215 35 18 on the fronts and a 225 35 18 on the rears..

What Marshall said will work, I'm just not a fan of tiny diameter stretched tires. I think the stock tire diameter is already too small. 18x8 +40 will be about 1/4" in from flush (not much IMHO), and if you don't think the rears are flush enough, you can always add 10-15mm spacers. This way you get to use the cheaper 225/40-18 tires at all 4 corners.

(Please don't crucify me Marshall. )
