Default HELP! Rims not TPMS compatible?

The manufacturer says to use something called a "TPMS band?" Is this OK and where do I get these? I didn't buy the rims yet but need to know. Thanks!

TPMS -Tire Pressure Measuring System
Pretty much a little indicator that goes off every time pressure is off at any of your tires.
You do not need them on your new set, I'm waiting for my second set of aftermarket rims to come in and just like the first one, I won't be replacing the TPMS.

A little yellow light will be constantly on your dash, but if you can live with that, it's fine.

Make sure you check your pressure from time to time in case you decide to not get them.

IF you decide that you want that sensor, you'll be able to get them off the site that will sell you the wheels, most of them offer them at 'checkout'

good luck

I restricted my rim choice to TPMS compatible (I like it). If you go with something else, and you want to keep the TPMS, then lucky there's a work around. If you don't care about the TPMS, then you can always ignore the dash light.

Most TPMS sensors (XB2 included) are attached to and mounted via the valve stem. If your wheels have holes for valve stems, they should work.

You might want to ask them again or contact a reputable wheel retailer like Tire Rack or Discount Tire & Wheel.

Here's an idea, not sure if its your thing, but it's right up my alley. Allows you to swap winter/summer tires with ease, and no light on the dash.

Thanks for the responses! I decided to go with another wheel choice that's TPMS compatible. I didn't want to use a band or "drill another hole?" so I said screw it go with a compatible rim.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough about our TPMS sensors being attached to the valve stem. Any wheel should work with them but you should check with a reputable supplier like Tire Rack to be sure. I'm not 100% sure about this.

BTW, if you plan to switch between summer/winter rims check out the Ateq Quickset tool that resets the ECU for different TPMS. I bought new TPMS with my new wheels so I can switch wheels/tires and still have active TPMS. Tire Rack has the best price on the quickset, $135.

I'm pretty sure my tenzos don't have tpms and no trouble with cruise. Or did you have your TPMS disabled? Unhooking things is a completely different issue.
