Default How to Install Hub Centric Rings?

As I understand....

My Ace Alloy wheels has a hub bore diameter of 73mm and our XB has a 60.1mm hub diameter.

Outside Diameter (Wheel Bore Size): 73.00mm ( See Dimension B)
Inside Diameter (Vehicle Hub Size): 60.10mm ( See Dimension A)

How is the actual ring installed?
Is it installed on the wheel or the vehicle hub?
Do you use any adhesive to keep the ring on?

Thanks

I have them on my front wheels and they are plastic , kind of like a washer that fits the center whole of your wheel they only go on the front wheels ....my set up is tight and no vibrate or bouncing or steering wheel shakes at all...

I think it usually comes in a 4 pack. Why wouldn't the rear wheels require these rings also?

The ones I purchased are made from polycarbonate material. I read somewhere that these are preferred over the plastic or aluminum/metal ones.

You need four rings. I usually install them into the wheel and then mount the wheel onto the car.

Default Hub-Centric Sizes...

I'm a firm believer in Hub Rings. My SRT Magnum 22s shook all over the place, I even had someone "straighten" them, before I learned about the rings, now smooth as can be !! The ones I chose are black polycarbonate, I was warned about the aluminum ones, because they corrode, and could damage the hub bore in your aluminum wheel. The main reason you use them, is to insure the wheel is concentric to the hub assy. Years back, the lug nuts were used to "center the wheel", but if the lug holes in the wheel are too much larger than the studs, it can allow the wheel to mis locate slightly. Chances are you won't notice it, until higher speeds, But the taller the wheel, the more effect it will have on the "roundness/balance" Because the moving mass is farther from the center of rotation, the wheel may bounce a little. Ever notice tire shops balance using the center bore, not the lug pattern ???

On a related note, I'm lookin for some OEM type wheels ( Lexus / Toyota / ETC.. ) and no one ever lists the Hub Bore Diameters... Anyone know where to get that info ? I can match up the lug pattern and the offset, but I'd hate to buy and pay for shipping just to find the hub bore too small... I could make a set of "custom" rings as long as there's clearance... Is the Camry the same 60.1mm ? What about the Lexus GS400s ??

Thanks, Rich...

Thanks for your input. On my past wheels, I never noticed that my wheels had the rings.

From what I understand, most Toyotas are 60.1mm hub bore. Not sure about Lexus.

Should these work with 18" wheels on a tC?

Not sure. You'll need to contact your wheel manufacturer for the outer bore specs.... I was fortunate that both of my wheel sets are 73mm.

No way to know for sure, as wheel manufactures make different sizes. You could call a tire store that sells your wheels, or the manuf. Hell, just go out and throw some calipers on them!! 60.05mm = 2.364 inches / 73mm = 2.874 inches...

They will not fit. Those rings are 72.6 to 54.1. You need 73.1 to 54.1.
