I have a wheel and tire question ! ! Please help me ! !
I have a 2008 xb. I'm putting a 17x9 with 35 offset wheels on it .. front and rear .. I'm wodering will it rub .. I'm also putting 215/45/17 tires on it .. (Try to scratch the tires for better clearance) Please give me some advise please .. thx
No, you're not putting 17x9 +35 offset wheels on a 2008 xB. Fronts will stick out big time. Nothing wider than 17x8.5 +35.
What wheels are you looking at? It will make it a lot easier to help you out.
The fronts on NoLimitz' are 8.5" wide +38 offset:

Well .. I'm looking at a set of no name wheels .. and The place that sell the wheel told me I can clear my front and rear fenders with 17x9 +35 offset if I run 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 tires ... coz the tires will be scratched and they will be angle .. Please advise ~
Just because something might work, doesn't mean that you should do it. Keep in mind that they're trying to SELL you something. If they say it will work, and you're willing to try it, then by all means, go for it. You asked for advise, and you have rec'd it. In a nutshell, if it does happen to work without rubbing, it will look really goofy with the wheels sticking out that far.
Oh, and so you know the word and what it means (I'm just educating, not flaming or trying to be rude); it's called "stretching" the tires (not "scratching"). It comes from the fact that the tire beads that meet the rim lips are stretched wider apart to seal against rims that are wider than they should be for the given tire size.
Hope this all helps, and best of luck.
BTW, what "no name" wheel is it? It is usually a bad idea to buy rims that aren't a known name brand with a good reputation. This is another reason that they might be trying to sell you wheels that really don't belong on a 2nd-Gen xB. I help a lot of people on this forum with tire & wheel issues. If you give me an idea of what style, color, finish, and price range you're interested in; then I might be able to help you find something that you like as much if not more, and wheels that should actually fit properly on your xB. You can always send me a PM.
